I'm not usually a huge fan of trading up in the 1st round unless you can do it for cheap like they did to get Takk last year, but I'd be willing to trade a good bit to get Vita Vea or Da'Ron Payne. I think getting into the top 16 would get one of them and getting to 12 would get either of them. The Redskins might go DT at 13 and the Chargers could go DT at 17.

A trade up will absolutely not happen unless we start cutting guys. We do not have the cap for it and still go out and sign a guy or two in free agency.

no shite. if the falcons want to trade up, then they'll find the room. if they don't want to find the room, then they won't trade up.

genius point.

I see Da'Ron Payne falling to Atlanta at their current position. I really just wish we could solidify the Dline and Oline this whole draft.

I hate to say it but Atlanta's window is starting to be beyond it's peak. Who knows how long Matt Ryan will play at a high level. Same with Julio. Alex Mack is getting up there. The defense is young but the Offense isn't that young.
Hell, Devonta Freeman has been in the league like 3-4 years now.

Look at their salaries on sportrac. There arent guys worth releasing, unless you want to take a huge cap hit. The only guy we could conceivably release and not have a huge hit is Levitre, but that would open up another need at guard.

It would take a lot of work to find the money this offseason.

I think that the contention window is at least 2018 and 2019.

Which is why I say trade up for Vea/Payne, sign Norwell or Sitton in FA, and take your chances

DL Bennett from Seattle on trade block.

Might be a dirty bird in the next few days.

His politics may suck but mofo can sack the QB!

Fvck Michael Bennett. I don't mind that general political movement - I'd be all for Chris Long or Malcolm Jenkins, for instance. I do mind the fact that he is a lying, petty, POS who made things up and then let other people suffer for it.

But even more important than that he's a huge bitch on the field.

You don't see a ton of trades in the NFL. Not only do you have to pay the guy, but you have to give something of value to get him.

Taking on an aging edge rusher seems more efficient in free agency where you just have to b pay the guy. Most players after 32 dont play out their contracts... another reason why giving something up doesn't make sense.

Pass, I wish the Cowboys were not tagging him, I'd rather shell out for Tank Lawrence.

No want...cancer in the clubhouse IMO and becomes completely unhinged when he's losing or getting beat on the LOS.

Can't stand the guy. I'd rather just bring Clayborn back

yeah I am torn on it. He'd be an upgrade (expensive) but a possible locker room issue. I am fine either way. AC had that one game with like 6 sacks but not a major factor like MB would be

He was dominant in the Dallas game but he's just an overall solid player both in pass rush and run support. He's also not a colossal douche who will ruin a locker room

I can't imagine that ATL does anything in the FA market. You guys? We're strapped for cash against the cap, it sounds like.

Nothing significant. My dream signing of Andrew Norwell isn't happening. I wonder how much Josh Sitton would cost?

Sure wish Matt Ryan would take a discount or home rate but doubt it. People always say "Well, would you?" and my answer is frick YES if the rest of my team depended on it.

Matt's already a millionaire and if someone offered me 75 million for 5 years and said, we know you're worth 100 but we're leaving that other 25 mil. for signing better weapons for you, I'd say YES PLEASE.

Compared to simply saying, "hey, here's 100 mil but you're WRs and defense are gonna suck!"
