The Braves are trash right now. Thankfully this season is back to 162 games but at this rate, we'll all have bowed out by July.

At least we can look forward to an offseason of hearing about how missing playoff revenue means we need to drop payroll below league average again

We will have a lot of rentals that can be traded at the deadline, which management would love because you could drop the payroll well down below the league average.

I hope I was being sarcastic, but this team has real problems right now. Most logical fans would expect a step back with payroll limitations, but the entire starting rotation and lineup outside of Acuna is really bad right now. Add the multiple base running blunders and I think blame needs to start being placed.

This team needs a kick in the arse. Sloppy and all over the place.

Acuna is basically Jesus in cleats. He is on a level that I'm not sure I've ever seen from a Braves hitter since Chipper abused the Mets in 1999.

Acuna looks like he has a strained oblique

Oblique or abdominal, and probably a trip to the DL coming. That is not good.

You’re probably right but hopefully it is just the NYY series. But if it is a stint on the DL is it Drew Waters time? I might prefer to see waters in the field and Adrianza at second rather than camargo at 2nd.

If it's a 10 day thing, probably not. If, God forbid, it's longer than that, then I think that's a possibility.

Update: Acuna has a mild abdominal strain and is considered day to day. I'm guessing he is held out of the NYY series and we don't see him until Friday. Still, this is just about the best case scenario.

Best news we could of got.

Sit him out of the Yankees series. He'll essentially have 4 days off due to the Braves having Thursday off.

That is not ideal. I'm starting to think we won't see him until at least June.

I was thinking June when they shut him down a few weeks ago.

Honestly, I'd rather have him healthy for the last 3 - 3.5 months of the season plus the playoffs than rush him back and have the rotation looking like how it does in the present limping into the playoffs.

While I wish the Braves had a better record right now, the Braves are 1 game out of 1st place. Divisions aren't won in April, but they can be lost, and even with the injuries and shitty hitting so far we could be tied for 1st place after tonight.
