Missouri got lucky with their schedule but it still wouldn’t have helped us this year, just like the favorable schedule we have next year won’t help us either.

Correct answer is they hired a competent coach. It takes 1 hiring cycle.

They played a better team and finished ranked higher and with a better record.

Why did we kick Jerry jacobs off the team? I just realized he started a large part of the year for the lions

I thought he quit after his playing time was reduced. Which brings in to question why we reduced his snaps.

I think it was them kicking our arse 8 out of the last 10 years.

Save the keystrokes, don’t care about your copium rationalizations.

On what planet are two unranked, 4 loss SEC/Big 10 team in an Outback bowl game at Raymond James stadium, in front of 40k at 11am bigger than two top 10 teams playing in the cotton bowl at AT&T stadium in prime time in front of 80k?

JFC can I turn in my diplomas?

As if you would have sat quietly through what Missouri has gone through the 3 years prior to this one.

frick off with that shite. Just last year that head coach was the laughing stock of this board. The opinions on here change with each passing breeze.

The same people clamoring for Drink now would have been trying to run him out of the state after his 3rd straight losing season and we'd have never even gotten to this point. Y'all can't even handle Sam having two bad seasons and one of them was a winning record to boot. But you want me to believe you would have put up with 5-5, 6-7, 6-7?

Yeah ok.

I can’t speak for everyone but for me it’s not the overall record it’s the trajectory. 8-4/6-6-/4-8 is a steady decline.

On top of the transfers out/in dynamic which obviously shows players see this as a sinking ship as well. Both inside and out of the program

What about 5-5, 6-7, 6-7 signifies growth and improvement?

I just don't buy it. You'll never convince me the peanut gallery would have supported stagnation over a 3 year period with not a single winning season. We flipped shite over a 7 win season last year.

all of this. Pitt most likely, won't get it done. I just don't have a bunch of hope... However, I will drink the kool-aid and get on board regardless as a hopeless hog fan!

But Drink sucked to high heavens until this season period.

Our past winning record over them from 100 years ago doesn’t count.

We haven't dominated them the past 100 years though. Since that first game in 1906 they are 10-4 against us. With, I will grant you, a lot of those wins coming recently.

To be fair, and not to knock Mizzou, they have tended to catch us when they are decent and we stink on ice. And to be frank we've mostly stunk on ice for the last decade or so. Witness all the losses to A&M in that time period.

The scheduling has been a bit more forgiving for them than us over the years. This years schedule, for us, looked manageable on paper as an example, but the devil is in the details and that 5 road game stretch, against the meat of our schedule, did exactly what people thought it would do. It wrecked the team going forward.

It is also coaches. They went from Pinkel (their all time great), to Odom (average), to Drinky (good). We went from Petrino (very good) to JLS (lousy), to Bert (below average), to Chad (all time worst), to Pittman (below average).

Never said anything about drink. I said their program is far superior.

But while we’re on it, he’s won at least 3 conference games every year and has never lost at home to a non conference or FCS team.

Pittmans hasn’t come close to that. Hes also 1-3 head to head vs RugRat.

I 100% guarantee folks would be more forgiving of Special Sams current record if he were 3-1 vs Mizzou as opposed to the opposite.

End of the day we’re racing to a red light with Sam. Mizzou took a risk and it’s paid off, at least one year.

Will see how it plays out the next few.

This is the first time in three years they've finished with a better season than we have. There's no logic here. All it is is pissed off people jealous that Missouri has the momentum we had in 2021.

That's called playing in the East and not being Vandy. Need I remind you our team didn't even give a damn and still beat Florida?

Which further proves my point that this complaining is hollow and emotional. People are legitimately trying to justify a coach that would have resulted in us having worse seasons in half of the years Pittman has been here in exchange for one good year. It's beyond stupid. Both for the fact that it's not a good trade and for the added fact that the people complaining wouldn't even have the patience to let it get this far.

Y'all can deny it all you want to, but Sam worked miracles here and 2 seasons was still more than enough to turn him from golden boy to holding on to his job by a thread. Drink would have been lynched by year 3. Hell, the season that started the "fire Pittman" train would have been Drink's best season at Missouri going into this year.

they flipped him with us having a lame duck coach.

They flipped him by offering him more money.
Pitt reportedly said he wasn't going to get in a bidding war for a high school athlete that hasn't proven anything yet.
I assume this was in regard to Crutchfield.

watched a recruiting vid of one of our commits... He threw shade big time at Crutchfield and agreed to not overpay for non-proven talent...

That season was fine until the Liberty loss then fans went bananas because of the amount of winnable games that was lost. The same happened the next year.

I don't see that trend ending next season.
