Well now we know this roster is prone to the same shite every MA team is prone to do. 2nd game this year where the game was close at the end and someone on the floor made a ridiculously stupid decision.

Here

I typically don’t watch the first several games. Y’all been hyping this team like a fricking final 4 team, so I tuned in today. We get out classed by a conference USA team at home. We played some very uninspired basketball and still could have won if we just make the easiest play in all of sports.... THE GD frickING FREE THROW!!!!!!!

I’ll see y’all in March. Have leaves to rake. frick Mike.

This one hurts....Had a couple beers with Western Kentucky’s asst coach last night and he didn’t think they had a good shot to win today.

I'm assuming their win over West Virginia was neutral court?

ETA: Yes it was

We knew that though. Doesn't excuse the shitshow on the court today. That team was not ready to play.

Yea just said they had a young team and didn’t know how they’d fare on the road here. Could’ve just been blowin smoke since he knew I was a Hog fan

Well they did just lose to Missouri State Wednesday, who had lost 5 in a row.

Yeah this is not a good loss at all. We had to play EXTRA shitty to them to lose by 1 point. It should be impossible for us to play that bad.

It's not good that we lost, but when it matters end of year it won't be a bad loss in terms of resume. They will win CUSA as predicted and be one of those first round teams you don't want to draw.

Bassey is as advertised. Too bad he didn't have the grades for a P5 team, he'd be fun to watch on Kansas.

Any MA coached team is gonna shite all over themselves at least 5 or 6 games throughout the season.

Bassey bitch slapped Gafford

For all the BS spewed about Gafford, he isn't a lottery pick.
Dude hasn't got "IT"

Mike's teams will shoot the 3 rather than feed Gafford

It looks like that will be dictated by whether we ever settle into a game or not. We've definitely had games where the clear objective was to feed Gafford or to work the ball inside in general, but we flat out panicked in the second half of this game. The offense morphed right back into what we complained about so much last season. The guards just standing around the perimeter passing it to each other until one of them jacks up a 3.

With the exception of Desi Sills, I didn't see anyone on the court make an effort to take the game inside repeatedly at all. Mike called a ton of timeouts to halt momentum, but there was zero visible difference in how the team played from stoppage to stoppage.

I almost wish we hadn't had that hot game from outside. The team's approach to offense was much better before then.

I drank the kool-aid and it was tasty I admit. A shame it spoiled when I went to have another sip. I'm not prepared to heap dirt on the squad though. It might have been just one of those games where things fall apart.

That, however, is a problem Mike Anderson teams seem to have. When things go off the rails during a game he can't seem to get the team refocused on what was working.

Alright, all you motherfrickers hopping off the bandwagon at a basketball team's second loss of the season need to just stay off. Please. It ia frustrating to legit fans when casual basketball fans don't understand that even the best teams in the world have off nights and lose. Even the greatest basketball team of all time (Jordan's Bulls Teams) never did better than 72 wins in a season. Which meant that they lost TEN games.

Good teams can lose on the road or at home. Good teams can lose to more talented teams, or even lesser talented teams if the shots aren't falling. It frickin happens. It's basketball.

Some of you people are just miserable.

(This isn't directed to anyone in particular, just the eternal pessimists as a whole that we have around here.)
