They're a lot farther along than I thought they would be. Could be better than last year's team.

Like i told my brother. I am going to hold off buying in until after our annual mid season 3-5 loss streak against the worst 3-5 sec teams.

61% from the field

13-25 from the 3 point line.
Hogs with 26 assists.

I'm not a hater. Hell, I didn't even 'hate' John Pelphry.
But Mike is finally producing what he should have at least four (or more) years ago. It's about time. His leash was getting awfully short.

I have really enjoyed watching this team, but....

We haven't won anything of consequence with MA... One and Done, One and Done, One and NONE, One and Done....

It is past time to get at least get a sweet 16 soon, in the next 2 years IMO!

The Texas game still eats at me. But then I remember us losing by like 30 at Houston last year. At this point in the season we look better than we did last year, though the schedule hasn’t been as difficult.

Isaiah Joe says, "all the credit to my team mates being able to find me. All my points came off assists."

Just made a post in pio's thread about this.

I am a big Mike supporter. Long story short, we have nothing to recruit off of.

He gives us a gamblers chance each year. Eventually he will hit, and then we have something to work with in recruiting.

Patience is our friend here.

He did it at UAB and Missouri. He will do it here. We just need the patience for things to align.

About 100% chance this thread gets bumped at one point during SEC play

It won't make a bit of difference. This dude is a damn good coach.

Agree. He may frick up sometimes in a single game, but that's not what's important. It's about recruiting and the bigger picture.

Mike's strategy for the overall program seems to be go hard or fail big. He's going to hit it right at some point.

It's simply a matter of do the fans have enough patience.

If he does hit soon he has the style recruits will flock to.

This team is a nice surprise after losing all of those seniors.
The SEC has definitely improved overall as well.

It has but we really need to become fans of the league during OOC play. I think we are going to bounce back as a league but hasn't been a great start.

Another thing I like about Mike is that he seems to recognize that playground ball player that might get missed by the blue Chip programs.

Those types come in with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove.

Think where we were with Heath and Pelphrey. Consider where we are at now assuming Mike can still pull the magic he did at UAB and Mizzou.

He will pull some magic here, it's just a matter of putting up with respectable teams and patience, and it's been a while since we have had respectable teams.

Yeah, they had a little bit of a surprising loss to Radford but they should be a solid team this year. They had a lead on Michigan St as well in the 2nd half but let it get away.
