We look like the best team in the SEC right now, although other teams have played like half the games we have, so there's that.

The size and length and rebounding is just a stunning turnaround from last year. They also look incrdiy athletic. There were times against UCA that looked like a well oiled Mike Anderson team.

We look good overall, but who have we played thus far?

Mizzou looks better with the comp. they have played. Tenner as well.

We will see, I am cautiously optimistic 4 sure...

Being down 10 to UCA did worry me.

Is that supposed to be a compliment?

I’ll be surprised if they make the tournament at this point. Haven’t looked great against the high school teams we’ve played so far and the SEC is down. They may not take more than 4 from the league this year

Wouldn't go that far but the league is down right now sadly

No sure why you think that, we out performed pretty much every scoring margin but one against expectations so far

The scoreboard doesn’t always tell the tale

The shooting and the playmaking right now concerns me. This happens when you lose two dominate scorers but I'd say the jury is still out before I'd make predictions either way.

Not one game but over the course of a season, the score board is going to tell you what type of team you are dealing with

Sure, there are certainly things to always be concerned about but we have played great so far overall for the competition we face. Pretty much every team in the nation is going to have bad stretches.

Have to continue to get better though no question like others will

I guess it just depends on what you expectations are going into the season. So far they have performed right at the mark for me which is great to this point.

Last year we only beat Northern Kentucky (without Tate), Austin Peay and Valparaiso by single digits. The UCA game was closer than it should have been for a while but so far we haven’t really been in any danger of losing whatsoever. The Bears did lead Memphis at halftime so they’ve been somewhat competitive even though they’re 0-4.

Sometimes people get too stuck in the football mindset regarding basketball. Most good/great teams are going to struggle at times against bad/meh teams. Thats just college basketball.

Especially this time of year. Low crowds and finals coming up. We sleptwalk our way to a 25 point win over the purple bears.

Yeah but we are only a handful of games into the season and we haven’t played anyone significant yet. They have struggled some defensively which is cause for concern (for me at least). Unlike offense, defense isn’t something that typically improves over time through the course of a season. So struggling this early against these types of teams doesn’t bode well IMO.

We’re top 25 in the country in points allowed per game, but yeah not sure that means anything with who we’ve played so far

Struggles for sure but teams are only shooting 38.8% against us which is 5th best in the nation. Obviously a lot has to do with our opponents but I still think that is a good pace regardless. I believe our issue is that players get into a little bit of a lulls at times because we are up so often and nothing really to get up for yet. Even adjusted with our schedule our defense is still top 30.

The most concerning thing on defense overall is the lack of turnovers we produce.

We just need to rebound well to make up for this. Can't work like last year where other teams offensive rebound us to death.

That is one way for sure and no doubt we are going to be much improved on that end but how much so we really don't know yet
