We need our Will Stein

I know he played at Louisville, but watching the joy on Stein’s face (and all the players and fans) after that game, it’s something different. He was one of them. He was a Kentucky boy. He was family.
Maybe it’s the 15 years of football incompetence. Maybe it’s my old(er) age. But circling the wagons sounds more and more appealing. The new AD absolutely MUST be from Arkansas. Surely.
And we MUST convince Rhett Lashlee to come home to turn this train wreck around. Jerry Jones can sell him. Whatever it takes. It’s the only answer at this point.

Why would any coach worth their salt want to deal with our admin issues, funding issues, and low patience paper bag wearing fans.
Not convinced we could see a quick turnaround even with a new AD given the amount of time we’ve been drifting in the wrong direction. Other schools like Kentucky have had better culture during our time in the wilderness after the motorcycle wreck.

Being realistic, the odds of finding another butch davis are slim to none. Plus they’re Miami and we’re Arkansas.

Petrino appears to have taken the second half collapses with him to UNC, so we don't have to worry about that being an Arkansas thing.

Next week will be the most important game in his career so far at Arkansas.
If he wins next week then maybe he can gain some momentum.
If he gets beat next week and didn't win another game, it will be the first one win season since 1932.

If for no other reason, happy petrino lost so at least most of the noise from his fans will be missing this week.

The problem is we always make the wrong decisions on these types of things. I don’t know if the fans can really help sway the feeling or not but our fans on social media seem to ruin these types of hires constantly. I said above that they shite on Will Stein but they also shite on Jeff Lebby and Eric Morris. We’re never going to nail these types of hires because our fans think we should be landing a 5* name head coach and then we miss on the obvious choice and instead land on Silverfield.

You keep missing the point.
Memphis fans were patient with him and he never did anything there.
There were no signs in the last 5 years he would be successful in this situation and even less in the last 3 games.
Thats why people are wearing brown bags.

Morris would have turned it around guys. We just weren't patient enough. It's our fault we're in this mess. Shame on us.

Problem is the unknowns have been Crowe and Pittman.
Ofer in the unknown department.
Then you have the knowns of Holtz, Hatfield, Ford, Nutt, Petrino, Bert, and Chaggy.
Only Bert and maybe you make the argument of Ford failed to meet or exceed what they did previously.
Silverfish largely just maintained what Memphis was under Norvell as they were under Fuentes both of which failed at better programs in the ACC. There is no reason to expect Silverfish to succeed and even match his performance at Memphis.
The larger problem is still Hunter. Broyles didn't get his first pick in Nutt, but he sold the hire to the fanbase and then Nutt sold himself, like or not he created buzz and excitement for the 98 season when there should have been none following back to back 4 win season with terrible losses occuring during those seasons.
Long sold Bert, Bert ran his mouth in amusing ways, and he had the record of his time at Wisconsin.
Hunter says here, you get Pittman/Silverfish, I know you don't like it but when we fail it will be your fault for not donating enough.
Btw both guys are supposed to be excellent o-line coaches, but the o-lines under them will be horrible to mediocre at best and they will do nothing about it first hand.

The protest isn't directed at Silverfield but at Yuracheck.
Silverfield hasn't in his career inherited a bad program and improved it from year to year.
