I was reading that last night and getting a good kick out of it. In one breath they say they're used to this mediocrity and it's just another game for them, and in the next breath they're back to their elitist "we're Texas hurr durrr" douchebaggery.
They STILL can't seem to figure out that everyone hates them because they think they're God's gift to football and the earth. They think they're hated because people are somehow jealous of them
They also go back and forth between saying we're not a rivalry and getting super emotional and pissed off because they lost to us. Then they also say we're irrelevant while saying this loss was expected because they haven't been relevant in 15 years. It's incredible to watch the cognitive dissonance, irony, and denial in that fanbase firsthand
ETA - go look at their score predictions and trash talking the first several pages of that thread for a good laugh

I just do not understand the "ha you guys care about beating us, how embarrassing" thing. I want us to beat the frick out of every team we play.

That was their main excuse they kept telling themselves last night, "well this was y'alls super bowl haha... we don't care that much about you so that's why we didn't play as hard"
They don't realize that EVERY week in the SEC will be just like that. And yes, we stormed the field, but we would've against any 15th ranked team that we took to the woodshed like that in that atmosphere after the terrible stretch we've had.
They've turned it around to even FURTHER add to their egos by saying that they're Texas so everyone always gives them their A game, best shot. They are delusional

To their credit, the guys on the LHN Texas GameDay Final show (Lowell Galindo and some former Texas players) were saying the same when they were dissecting the game. They said it was obvious the team and staff didn't take Arkansas seriously as a rival and thus took them lightly, and they echoed the fact that you can't do that in the SEC because every week is a dogfight with a quality opponent.
The "they're just another opponent" stuff is what gets coaches fired. It's why Bert could never seem to beat Gus, because one guy had it circled and the other tried to act like it didn't mean anything, and their respective teams played like it.

I mean, pretty much everyone has nodded their head in agreement.
He was talking about rivalry hate. He literally said it in the same breath as "rivalries matter in college football." He didn't mean it in a Texas envy "they hate us cuz they ain't us" way.
