Basically said on Mattingly's show today that Chad's system is totally doomed to fail without a great QB. Said it's all built around one player and if you don't have him, you may not win any games (well, so far so true).

He also said he played with so much fear under Petrino failure simply was not an option, and if your mind wasn't right, you were gone.

Wouldn't bash Petrino at all, and in fact, compared him to Van Horn, simply because of their mentality of "I'm an a-hole and I know it, but we will win or else. And no one gets a pass..."

I head it live by chance, but I'm sure it will available later. It was a fascinating interview on playing under Petrino.

So, did he enlighten us on what system WOULD work in the SEC without a great QB? I don't think there is one.

Also - sounds like he took a page from Papa Frank's book. Bet nobody gives him as much shite about his statement as they did Frank.

Casey performed better under david lee the previous year.

I recall Casey and Nathan starting games as well as Wilson being thrown to the wolves against Texas that year.

Difference between then and now is there isn't the QB for the next 2-3 years waiting to become eligible to play.

The next QB is likely to flip to ole miss while the QB after that will be 2 years without the father in the home which makes moving far off to Clemson that much easier.

So it will be up to the next HC to fix the QB roster and try to salvage a year out of Nolan if he hasn't transferred to another school or committed to baseball full time by then.

I will not be surprised or shocked to see cHaDN2.0 scouting the intermural fields for a QB during his time here.

still he wasnt completely useless under petrino. these QBs can't do anything well. dick might have been at his best handing it off but he atleast did that well.

We don't have much of a sample size yet, but I don't think we need to discount Connor Noland. Hope they are fast tracking him.

Why not Noland? He got very little snaps in practice bc he was 4th on the damn depth chart and I thought he actually looked decent.

shite...imo. It was hard to figure out if the was the QBs or the WR routes but it was all frickered to hell.

LSU's system when they had Jordan Jefferson at QB and made it to the national championship game.

There is absolutely no fricking way to underestimate how much Jeff Long fricked us when he practically RAN to the media to get the Jessica story out there.

Of course Petrino was like DVH... they're both professionals who thrive on the competition... not the politics.

I would love to see Morris start booting some of the beta males off the team... the ones who actually thought Bielema was a good coach.
Guys like Tyler Wilson would agree it's completely justified at this point.

I know... it is what it is at this point.

But you could see it coming when Bert practically ran away from Alvarez and UW into Long's waiting arms...

It would be easier if I could still watch the Chargers with a rooting interest during football season... but inept management/ownership managed to frick that up for their fanbase in a similar fashion.

I'm trying to adopt an off the radar, well-coached team to follow this season. Thinking Colorado could do the trick.
