Was spreading rumors that Carter slept with their girlfriends on Twitter.

I'm still not convinced we're that much better via the portal now. But I'm not as up to date on numbers at this point. Sure seems like we're gonna end up in the same good starter with a cliff sized drop off from our 1 to our 2 position as always simply swapping em in and out.

Depends on how many of our recruits start panning out. We'll never have the depth of the blue bloods but if we keep hitting homeruns in the portal we'll close the gap some.
You have to consider that one of the biggest reasons that we're doing so well in the portal is guaranteed PT due to the lack of high end recruiting.

They took the leading reciver from Oklahoma and added 4 defensive starters and players with significant snaps from the best talent programs in the SEC.
Your ceiling on defense is now exponentially higher. They must add 1-2 interior D-lineman, however.

After an ACL tear. And I'm not trying to downplay him just being realistic he's gonna need recovery and time to come up to speed.

Yes starters for us. I don't believe any of these players were starting by end of year for their respective teams at least not the SEC ones.
My real concern though is where is our floor now. We knew where it was previously, we may play up with these new guys in a bit. But how far down do we drop for the backup with young guys playing? Yet to be seen

Didn't hear tear that back in April of 2020?

And afterwards he managed only 400 yards against big 12 defenses......I'm hoping for the best but being realistic about it.

So he had 400 yards off an ACL tear. He should now be 100% and even better
Plus you saw what Mike woods did in our offense and what he did in OUs offense..

In fact on 4 more catches than Mike woods last year. Hasslewood had 1 less yard.
He was not OUs leading receiver last year or the year before or ever as far as I can tell. Mims or lamb lead every year.

Depends on your definition. By yards, no. By receptions and touchdowns, yes.

So he's one of the worst in yards per catch for them out of their top guys. His average yards is a full yard less than Mike woods. Hell the TEs average more yards per catch

His potential wasn’t realized at OU, we’re hoping that changes here.
Same with the LB from bama and the DE from LSU. The talent is there, just not fleshed out yet.

Just based off his highlights, that seems to be the role OU gave him in the offense. Everything is a quick pass/completion...when they actually threw to him downfield, he had some damn impressive grabs.

Of course, it's all conjecture until we see it on the field. I tend to agree with you that if folks are expecting him to come in and be Burks 2.0, they are probably going to be disappointed. However, he should do a really good job of being one of the WRs by committee we turn to to replace his production.

Seems like he is a red zone threat if he had the most TDs. That is something we lacked. Our guys could catch them deep, but we didn’t have anyone that could jump and pull them down.
