Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) has compiled an impressive resume over the years. He spent his early years on a small-town Arkansas cattle farm, and those humble beginnings miraculously led to Harvard University and then Harvard Law School.
After working at a leading New York firm, he decided to join the military, and was discharged after nearly eight years and two war-zone deployments as an Army captain and decorated hero — including two commendation medals, a Bronze Star and a Ranger tab.

In his first run for Congress, Cotton claimed to have been “a U.S. Army Ranger in Iraq and Afghanistan,” and, in a campaign ad, he falsely claimed to have “volunteered to be an Army Ranger.” In reality, Cotton was never part of the 75th Ranger Regiment, the elite unit that plans and conducts joint special military operations as part of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

He’s underrated as a statesman. He sounded the alarm about covid back in January 2020. Called for a Manhattan project type effort for a vaccine. Meanwhile the rest of the government was focused scoring political points over a meaningless call between trump and Ukraine.

He’s tabbed. Dudes a ranger. Just wasn’t In the 75th. For those who don’t know the army let’s anyone try out for the ranger course and in fact anyone in the us military can if they want too, most people who aren’t planning on becoming rangers or some other form of special operations don’t want to voluntarily do the course because it’s a whole lot of suck. I think only 2 seals have ever completed (because after completing BUDS who would want to put themselves through 2 more months of bullshite) the course and in the army if your ranger qualified (meaning you completed ranger school) and you have a tab you can call yourself a ranger. Maybe dudes in the 75th would give you shite but even most of them would probably back cotton on this over some trash writer on the internet. The respect comes from completing the course. After that the only difference between Tom and a guy who served in the 75th is where they were assigned to the army

No. He is a professional vituperous politician relying on the civilian voter not noticing he is eliding the difference for his own gain

He lost my support over the last couple of months. And I had voted for him.

Another swamp creature.

I was a Cotton guy until recently. Now, even if it’s somebodies 3 legged gay dog running against him in the primary ill vote against him.

Key word is primary.

What do you feel like he did wrong?
As far as the Ranger thing, if he wasn't going around saying that he was with the 75th or saying that in his time with the Rangers or something very similar, then he did nothing wrong.
It's really no different than me telling someone about my time in special ops when I was just an acft maintainer in AFSOC. I'm not lying.

Listening to a military podcast break it down, he went through Ranger school, so it’s a gray area that no one really cares about.

Just an ill-informed writer thinking it’s a “gotcha” but in reality he doesn’t know what he/she is writing about.
Cotton went through Ranger school and likely had a Ranger patch on his sleeve. Not being with the 75th doesn’t mean you haven’t garnered being a Ranger.

That’s also hilarious to me.
I am grateful for all who have volunteered, on their own to be a part of our military. The arse clown writer doesn’t even comprehend the sacrifice all of our military men and women do, voluntarily.

As much as I hate Cotton, this whole story is total bullshite and just another wannabe hit piece by a Marxist state run media hack.
He's fricking tabbed. He's a Ranger. His fricking unirofm says as much.
Now, Did he ever say he was in the 75th?? Hell, 99% of all people don't even know what the hell the 75th is and what they do. They just hear "Ranger" and don't know that there's two designations.
Now, did he and the Bildeberg Satanic globalists that back him use his military sevice to get elected...absolutely. Did the dude actually serve in a combat zone? From what I can tell, absolutely.
Give the guy respect for voluntarily going to hell holes that virtually all Americans have no concept of, but I have no respect for him politically.
Someone in the state assembly needs to attempt to recall his swamp arse. But this story is total CCP-like bullshite.

I found it hilarious and grasping at straws... But it has since been picked up by other organizations.
This political climate is unbelievably ridiculous. Sucks.

I think Cotton is over the top being a jackass politically, but yeah, this is really bad slander.
I disagree with Cotton on a lot of things, I think he carries the conservative ethos too far in some regards (though I know he got a lot of hatred for saying Trump lost) but I don't doubt his service. And it is matter of public record that he did pass Ranger school.
Hell, two members of my immediate family passed Ranger school and didn't actually serve as Rangers. One of whom was my father who did two tours in Vietnam in the arse end of nowhere supporting the Montagnards because he happened to speak French.
I disagree with Cotton but I respect what he did in the service.

His military service is not the reason I voted for him, and it's not the reason I won't do that again.
But I agree, them attacking him from that angle is bullshite.
They have learned they can lie and say anything they want and get away with.
Liars. The whole damned lot of them.
