The LSU game is the first time I have watched you guys this year. I thought he played pretty well and made enough plays to put you in a position to win. Has he looked good all year? How would you rate his performance so far?

He hasn’t been perfect but he’s a breath of fresh air compared to our QB play the last few years. He’s 4th in the SEC in most categories and has probably played himself into a late round draft pick. His deep ball is gorgeous and he’s done a good job at taking care of the ball, his pocket presence is awful but overall he’s done a really good job IMO.

He is our best QB since Austin Allen in 2016. The rest in between have been awful.

He is well needed this year because the QB position lacks depth and experience. We are fortunate this year he didn't get hurt or we don't win a game.

The rant believed he was the worst QB in the SEC but that is false. He is a solid QB but struggles to execute in an offense that is in rebuild mode.

Yeah, I didn't think he would play well. He didn't play very well when he was at Florida but none of that matters now. He is playing well and he brings much needed leadership to the field and in the locker room.

If you look at his stats before he got hurt at Florida, he was on pace for a 3,000 yard passing season. So obviously he was playing well enough at Florida or they would have benched him.

Yes he does make some poor decisions but that is quickly erased with his arm strength.

The problem is that he plays in an offense that lacks offensive line experience and depth. So when he drops back to pass, he gets flushed out or sacked quite often.

It also doesn't help that he isn't surrounded by enough playmakers.

100% this.

I've been most surprised/pleased by the bolded. I expected much worse decision making in terms of the throws he takes.

He has thrown the ball quite well all things considered. Sometimes he has a bit too much oomph on his short passes and sails them long. He does throw the deep ball very well and he has some WRs that can go get it.

One major issues is that he seems very awkward running the read option and that is a huge part of the Briles Offense. Everything flows off the read option running attack so all it takes is one mistake and there is a good chance we are going three and out.

All in all Franks has done a very good job in a very tough situation.

He sometimes holds the ball too long but I image that's due to players not being able to get open sometimes.

I really like him and think we are way better with him here but he has gotten really lucky this year with turnovers. He has thrown several easy picks that were dropped and has fumbled a few times and gotten lucky with a recovery.

I hope he comes back for another year. We could have a pretty good team next year if he does.

That's a fair assessment and I agree. I don't think we have anyone coming up behind him that would challenge him if he came back next year. Definitely his team if he wants it.

I get the feeling that Franks gone. We need him another year because our backups are so raw.

He'll need a REALLY solid Oline in the NFL.

I love the guy but he's scout team max. He's already a little too slow for the college game at times. NFL speed would eat him alive.

No one ever wants to be "that" fan, but I firmly believe we beat them handily with our normal personnel on defense. Marshall is good but he can't stop a rushing attack alone all game. They were scared to death to test our secondary and kept everything short. Slowing their rushing attack down just a fraction more would have resulted in a win, IMO.

We need conservative franks against mizzou but I hope Briles turns him completely loose verses bama. If we are to win that game he’s going to have to trust Burks, Woods and Kern to make some tough plays.

Huge if, if the game is even played.

It's offline on all my gambling sites.
