I imagine he will get one more year after this year.

If there isn't some serious changes we will move on.

I'll always believe that our football program could achieve much more than average. Petrino gave us a glimpse and he/we threw it all away.

Is 9-4, 7-5 and say, 5-7 really enough to fire a coach here given what he inherited?

I look at guys like Dave Clawson and Doeren and they were terrible to mediocre their first 4 years at Wake Forest and NC State, then it took them to year 6 or 8 to have their best teams. Wake Forest won 11 games last year and has another top 20 team this year. It took Stoops a while to get Kentucky to this level too.

Some fanbases expect to just keep increasing the win total every single year and that’s not always realistic. If we have a string of bad seasons in a row or go 2-10 again then sure.

Nah. Talking about getting rid of coaches who took us from what can be kindly described as a raging dumpster fire to respectable in 12 months is totally reasonable. The fact we haven't won a title in the last two seasons is unforgivable and must be addressed. We don't even have a Heisman candidate this year. Pathetic.

I think it's fair for us to be pissed after the last 2 weeks without wanting our HC fired. But shite like yesterday is unacceptable in year 3. We didn't show any fight until right before halftime. Then we showed we could play tough for 1 quarter and then they laid down in the 4th. Bama is good, but we shouldn't have played that bad.

We lost to Alabama pretty badly in 2011 and that was a much better Arkansas team

You think we wont make a change if our record ends up worse 2 years in a row?

That's not something to be excited about.

Keep in mind, Sam could turn this season around and have a good season the following year.

I just can't imagine us keeping him if we decline back to back years.

Nothing I've said is outlandish or calling for the mans firing. I just can't see under any circumstance we would keep him if this year is a dud, and next year is even worse.

pittman needs 5 years without something very catastrophic happening.

I look back at folks like Iowa with Ferentz, Clemson with Dabo, among others and think we need to settle down a bit with this idea of replacing Sam so quickly

I don’t think we will change the HC and we probably shouldn’t, unless it’s Matt Rhule.

But we will be changing coordinators because that happens usually after 3-4 years no matter what.

That depends on the results of those seasons. If he goes 2-10 and 3-9 then yes but if they are 6-6 and 5-7 then no.

It isn't something to be excited about but rebuilding years are sometimes erratic and patience is badly needed for this program.

You have to keep in mind that last year was a combination of doing better than expected in the portal, having a good group of super seniors, a first round draft pick in Burks and getting very fortunate in some close games that could easily be losses. That team was closer to being 6-6 than 10-2 but they overachieved.

This team looks closer to what they are and should be. This team isn't as good as last year but that doesn't mean it will be a Chad Morris year.

Both coordinators are getting close to either taking a shite or get off the pot.

They get one more year and they find the same positions somewhere else.

CBS teased Odom as a candidate for the Colorado job, then admitted we have a horrible defense and he crashed a decent program that Pinkel had built.

I’ve got no hopes of him leaving.

Replacing Sam in the third, fourth or fifth years would seal this program as an SEC bottom feeder for the rest of our days.

Barry is rumored to be linked to Colorado or they are looking at him or he made their preliminary list.

So I say at least one if not both will be gone after this year. Everyone wanted to see Briles in one spot for awhile, 3 years is about as good as it gets for any big time coordinator so I bet he is gone too.

He will eventually leave sooner or later. He isn't head coaching material and would take a DC position at a another program.

If both leave then no better time would be after this year.

Oh, I'm fully aware of that. And I like Sam over all, as do most of the players. He made the fan base proud after what we've endured prior to his arrival. Hopefully he can recruit some better talent for the future.

IMO Arkansas can be a great program. We have our limitations with instate recruiting, but we have the money, resources, and fan support to take that next step.

Yea, it sucks because I honestly like both of them, but the product on the field leaves you scratching your head sometimes.

Will be hard for Sam to lose both coordinators all of a sudden because he seems to enjoy/trust both of them.
