Name a coach that wouldn’t be, please.

Kiffin for starters.
I'm not even a leach fan and he probably could have done it.

Expectations are so low he could go 3-9 and 5-7 and be totally safe.

Don’t worry I bookmarked it.

Ok. I will probably have erased all my bookmarks in 3 years so sorry if I don't hit you back laters.

I hope the players don’t quit on him before day 1 like they did on Morris. What they said after the year was embarrassing for themselves yet they seemed happy.
I just realized the OP is a Stephens Media type person.

Christ some of you are retarded. We weren’t going to make a crazy splashy hire this far into the search, so your plan is to just dog the new coach no matter what? When he starts winning here, self ban. You will not be allowed to say anything positive about him

And HY was on the hotseat yesterday

I wanted Kiffin the past 2 searches, but even I'm willing to admit he was going to be risky. The reasons I wanted Kiffin, and think it was worth the risk, is because he can recruit and has a solid network of assistants.
Pittman isn't much different in those regards. He doesn't have the HC experience, but you know he isn't going to bring any off the field baggage with him.

Leach, Petrino
Leach got an extension at Washington State, several days ago. He’s not coming here. Petrino would be on the hot seat the day he is introduced, and you know it.

A good AD would have made it happen before hiring a position coach.

Got a standing ovation last time he was in the state so I don't think so

Maybe we don’t have one of those. Or maybe the GOB network that we all know has ran our program for decades reared it’s incompetent head. It will take years to piece together what has transpired in the last 6 weeks, if ever.

Petrino only takes a back seat to Gus Malzhan in dividing the Arkansas fan base. There is no doubt the man was a great coach at one time, but there is also no doubt that there are tens of thousands who will never forgive him for the royal program fricking he brought upon us, all for a piece of arse.

Maybe. Heck. I'll even say probably.
We weren't getting a magic bullet with this hire.
Kiffin is Kiffin. How many of us would have stuck by Leach if he dropped a game to an FCS team? Something, I should add, that he has a tendency to do several years into being the head coach.
We need someone to put the team back together. Put some basic building blocks in place. Maybe Pittman carries us back to being good, but I think there is a decent chance he at least puts us in a position to hire the next guy to build on this.

I don't see Kiffin lasting long anywhere, except FAU.

No need. This is a bad prediction and it's easy to see why.
100%. Everything depends on who he hires. If the earlier figures for Kiffin hold true, Pittman has like 6 million per year to hire assistants. With his connections I am certain he will build a great staff.
He will not be on the hotseat in year 3. He is going to build a winner. The more I think on it the more I like it.
Good call, Yurachek. I think he made a good hire here.

I'm talking about at the beginning. The fact that you mentioned this far into shows the incompetence.
