Daniel Gafford So. C Arkansas
Isaiah Joe Fr. G Arkansas
quote:
“I think he is emotional. He gets tired really easily. I don’t know where he fits positionally at the next level. I guess he’s a 5 like a JaVale McGee. I see him as a complementary guy.
“I get the intrigue because of his size and ability to change ends. They don’t run anything on offense. They didn’t call a play against us, so I don’t know if that’s really helping his stock. How would he look in a place that ran some pick-and-roll for him or were able to highlight his game more?
“I question his toughness, his love for the game, I just have a lot of questions on his durability. But I get the intrigue. But I’m not completely sold on him as an everyday guy. Some of that, I think is how he’s utilized. But some of that is watching him on the tape, but I don’t see him as a super-hard-working, team-oriented guy. They are severely under-talented. A lot of those kids just aren’t good enough.”
Isaiah Joe Fr. G Arkansas
quote:
“I like Joe a lot. He was the first guy out for them. Seems like a really high-character kid. Really like his stroke. He’s an NBA prospect to me. They aren’t very good, but have two real NBA prospects. I really like him. How much strength does he add? How much does the productivity go up? What is the jump from Year One to Year Two?
“But I like all the stuff I’ve heard. And watching him pre-game, he seems like someone who could improve, he seemed like a really diligent worker. But he’s one-dimensional right now. He has range, but needs to have a ball-dominant guy with him.”

Pretty much what we have said on here.
The off-season would be huge for Joe.

It’s sad people in power positions won’t do anything about it.
We continue

So no talent and no coaching. Great.

Yep. Its what I dont understand about board and stone supporting this. We will never have elite talent because other coaches tell them and show them the tape of us not running offense and guys wasting away in our system

This echoes the comment Nolan made on recruiting out of holes. I know many will agree, but I still think coaching, not recruiting, is our problem. Like Nolan, Mike doesn't coach up centers and that's Gaffords biggest problem.

So we can now add NBA scouts and SEC coaches into the ring of people that think our coaching sucks and Gafford is overrated.

If it's a money thing DVH could coach baseball and basketball together and still do a better job than CMA.
Save money.
Improve results.
win win

Still didn't seem to help Monk and Goodwin in the pros much either.
