Pisses me off man. Imagine him with the experience of the whole year. I hate how NIL is muddying these coaching decisions.

He will leave after the year if he isn’t the starter. And it will be to an SEc school like Ole Miss who rapes us with him next year.
Where have these dammed tight ends been all season?

Playing the wrong player is a Pittman hallmark.
Green over Singleton.
Pool over Paul.
The Aussie over Reid Bauer.
Dubinion over Russell.
Ramsey over Shipley.
+ a litany of others

We have lost 4 of our last 5 SEC home games by at least 24 points

Pittman sucks arse at home.
Don’t forget he also lost to Liberty and nearly lost to Missouri State.

Did we let Paul go or just not have the money to keep him? I took him entering the portal as trying to cash in on a good season.

I was at both of those games.
Both didn't play hard in first half.

What did Pittman say in the press conference that people are pissed about?
Posted on 11/2/24 at 6:14 pm to Hawgnsincebirth55
In the press conference he said he told the team after the game that one more win was good enough to hold their heads up. A lot of people didn't like that.
Pregame he basically said we were broke and had to go "blue light special" for the O-line in the pregame interview. I think that's what more people are mad about.
It's true, but just a horrible look and something you probably shouldn't say.

Cold beer never came off as very smart.

It was in reference to the massive amount of money ole miss has spent on the defensive line, called them Luis vuitton Arkansas spending on the o-line is a blue light special in comparison.
Context matters.

Well it certainly could have had better timing like prior to the Mizzou game

Oklahoma State about to go 3-9 with a win over us.

He called them cheap players. There's no way around it.

He was brought here, not just because he wanted to be here, but to also have the team bowl eligible each year. He was hired mainly for his recruiting ability.
At the time that bar was enough, most agreed bowl eligibility was taken for granted, occasional seasons near ten wins was a bonus. Yourachek knee capped the program and university in regards to recruiting when NIL came about and his stance against it. So Pittman recruits and lands a guy like Pooh Paul who is soon on the opponent because of money.
Today was was the difference in HY and NIL. Ole Miss embraced it, used it to pick up major contributors from opposing SEC teams. HY fought it and has done it half arse with edge (template used by other teams such as Maryland).
Arkansas can have the best offensive mind in program history running the offense and the hottest young DC in the game and it doesn't matter. Not every team is inept in buying a roster like the cowboys.
Now as an Arkansas fan when you see a freshman take off or an upperclassmen blow up, you have to wonder if he'll be back next year or if another SEC team will buy them out from under you.
HY put Arkansas in this mess, it will take a forward thinking AD to get them out. If there was a Nil salary cap, coaching and recruiting ability would again matter like it did pre-NIL, but there isn't so coaching ability is more important right now, NIL budget can be most important.
It could be worse, we could be Auburn and Freeze where paying players doesn't get the same result when everyone can pay players.
