It could be that the defense is facing better QBs and better offenses.

Same.

Tackling, angles, and coverage were very poor yesterday. They picked up a ton of YAC, and we didn’t tackle well in space (or at all). Ironically, our defensive line was the one unit that looked good with a high pressure rate, 4 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.

I think we’re seeing our depth issues on defense starting to rear its head.

I think the more concerning thing is that we gave up 25 to a very bad team, but it could have been a lot more. We stomp on our dicks a lot, but State put on a dick-stomping clinic yesterday in or near the red zone. Running into the teeth of our DL on 4th and inches at the 22, and doing it again on 4th and goal. Turning 1st and goal at the 1 into 1st and goal at the 15 due to an incredibly stupid unsportsmanlike penalty and ultimately settling for a field goal.

They had the ball inside our 25 yard line 4 times in the 1st half and got 3 total points out of it. Not that we’d have ever been in danger of losing (thanks to our offense), but our defense didn’t exactly inspire confidence.

Also, if you had told me before the game that we’d be 0-7 on 3rd down and Mississippi State wouldn’t punt once, I would’ve wanted Pittman not just fired but arrested .

On the Hasz TD on 4th and 1, I saw Hasz streaking wide open after chipping and sneaking out. I literally jumped off my couch and yelled “Cowboy Get It!” as the ball was in the air.

My wife was like “what in the hell are you talking about?”

Depth on the D-Line is especially telling.

Extremely problematic this late in the season facing Ole Piss and Texass. Thankfully both games are on the hill.

Win two more, Pittman and crew get another season

He just needs one and La Tech is pretty close to a sure thing. If we didn’t fire him for going 4-8 we won’t fire him for going 6-6.

Saw this on X

Sam Pittman now has more SEC wins than John L Smith, Bret Bielema, Chad Morris, and Barry Lunney Jr at Arkansas.

Combined.

Win against Top 10 Team in Prime Time Slot

At a minimum will double previous season win total

Arkansas ranks 13 of 16 in regard to NIL in the SEC

Attendance had been great in DWRRS

There is not one metric in the current season that points to this staff not being retained. You live in a fantasy land if you think otherwise.

Edit: Would be a mistake to make any changes in the primary coaching staff

Good way to guarantee we never have any depth.

At some point a university is gonna realize they need to pay coaches less and players more...we hopefully will be ahead of that curve though I doubt it.

That area is good. Lack of depth in the linebackers and secondary.

Ole Miss has a bigger NIL with two losses and a potential third loss this Saturday.

Alabama has a much bigger NIL than Arkansas, they already have two losses and will probably lose a few more.

NIL is overrated and would prefer to get players that are a right fit than throw $2 million at a QB like Nico from Tennessee that played like crap against us.

Actually, Lunney Jr beat Mizzou in Little Rock.
