I heard that this is the first time that Briles as an OC has had a returning starting QB. That along with our running backs and oline should put us well ahead of where we started last year. Plus we’ve added more speed to the receiver corp so the offense should be more explosive coming out of the gate.
I’m trying not to get my hopes too high but it’s hard for me to believe this offense won’t be better than last year.
If our dline is worth a hoot our defense should be solid as well.
I’m ready to get this thing started.

Cincy returning all 5 starters on OL will be a quick test of our revamped DL.

Trying to pace myself on the kool-aid. Top 3 things I want to see..
1. CB is concerning to me. Who do we have out of Clark and co.? Always thought Brown was a good tackler.
2. Is DL better than average? Williams and Ridgeway are huge losses. Dorian is running with the 3's. Will he give us a boost later in the season, or are we already good without him?
3. How will Briles use Hornsby?

We’ll be fine at corner. Defensive line is the biggest question mark on the team imo

Yea, we are pretty deep and talented in the secondary. Interested in seeing us in more man.
The DL worries me. That’s the key to our defense. DL drawing at least one double team and letting our LB’s get huge tackle numbers.

Defensive line didn’t look great, but not bad either. The secondary was way more concerning than what I expected.

Would like to have seen the ball in Hornsby's hands 3 or 4 more times, but I guess the game just didn't play out to that happening.

If KJ just had a little more time, it looked like Hornsby was about to be WIDE open on that wheel route to the sideline he ran. But I think we threw it incomplete to Knox.

OP updated. Couple notes…
- Saturdays win was program win #730
- Saturdays win was program win #1 over Cincinnati
- LSU is the only SEC team to lose their opener. The league went 13-1
- The win over ranked Cincinnati was the programs first opening game win over a ranked opponent since 1974.
- Drew Sanders and Jordan Domineck each had sacks in their Hog debut.
- Quietly Good Game: Landon Jackson had 5 tackles, .5 TFL, and .5 sacks in his debut.
- Injury Bug: We wait to hear official news on Catalon and Slusher.

Is it just these two at this point? I know we had several different guys on defense out in the 2nd half but a lot of them ended up coming back on. Thinking Jayden Johnson, Hudson Clark, and a few others that I’m forgetting
