None of our guys bounce back well even with low pitch counts except Kopps. Can they pitch tomorrow? Yes. Will they pitch well? Doubt it.
We literally just went Johnny whole staff to win the SECt.
Wiggins will start and we will get 2-3 innings.
Monke/Vermillion/Tole will come in and give you an inning or so each.
That gets you to the 6th or 7th with hopefully the lead and hand it over to Kopps.
This team has a collective ERA that ranks 3rd in the league.
As bad as today was, NC State only scored 6 runs. That amount of runs should not beat our lineup.

I hope Wiggins has learned to better control his secondary pitches since the regional, because NC State will eat his FB alive.

Nobody went back to back expect monke and he got run after walking 3 out of 5 batters. You're right that he will start wiggy. Unless we jump all over them I expect to see Kopps early.
Hopefully the bats wake up tomorrow. NC State pitching is not elite so it very well could happen. If the unthinkable happens and Kopps runs out of gas in a close game we are in trouble.

We will need better at bats, we will be fine on pitching

Wicklander will be available for an inning or two tomorrow too. Should be his normal bullpen day.

This right here. College baseball teams can hit fast balls in the zone. Wiggins better nibble the edges or we might be toast.

So we won the coin toss?
Yeah. It’s nuts that the higher seed doesn’t get that automatically.

I was afraid that the lineup would struggle after what happened Friday.

I'm assuming Franklin will start in CF tomorrow.

DVH basically said that he would in his press conference.
Didn't say who would pitch. Said he pulled Lockhart because he was getting behind everyone. Said he'd be available tomorrow.

We’re good. We got this tomorrow

That should leave pretty much every pitcher available tomorrow

Yep. Arms are fine. The main thing is having better at-bats tomorrow. Plate discipline was awful today. We swung away a lot of walks.

I still contend that this should have been finished today. DVH pulled Lockhart too early, and somewhat gave up on the game by leaving Cousteau in for way TF too long.
I'd like to know DVH's thoughts on three game series and what his goals ultimately are, and this includes SEC play. It seems as if when the other team gets a little momentum headed in their direction, he almost loses the will to win the game and starts planning for the next game, as long as it means we win two of three.
I don't know....today pissed me off. I expected a little bit of a letdown offensively, but I didn't expect DVH to roll over and basically take a chance on leaving all of our fortune/misfortune on Game 3.
I may be wrong in my interpretation, but I'm a little disgusted.
I also wish Franklin, Slavens, and Goodheart would start hitting for a higher damn average. I don't know what those three combined batting average is over the last five games are, but I bet it's flat out atrocious. That's 1/3 of our lineup.
I don't know, but I hate having a do or die game on the season whenever this could have/should have been finished today.
ETA: I should say "I don't know" one more time.

I don't see what he did as rolling over but more trying to find the good balance of trying to get the win today but not selling out and screwing yourself for tomorrow if we lost today.
Agree that people can/should question some of the management of the first two pitchers though.
They basically have two "trusted" arms tomorrow. The starter and one bullpen guy. Big advantage for us in that regard.

I think you covered the entire gamut of emotions for several of us. But it has been and hopefully will continue to be an incredible ride. WPS!
