I'm not disappointed with the Enos hire. And I agree, I think it was/is pretty funny that he basically had Enos on standby.
But a lot of people gave Briles a lot of shite despite the fact that he did pretty well with our offenses. There were legitimate concerns/complaints to be made (Redzone, mainly this season, but also some dumbass play calls that were real head scratchers). But it seemed like a lot of people took for granted just how good our offense has been. Especially considering where we were just a few years ago.

and remember, "they" is not Sam and Hunter
"they" are the people who are fricking with Sam and willing to lose Hunter
They needed to save $150K a year instead of match Miss State? No. It was an insult, and it was intended.

His friend says KB thought it was his best move to be a HC, but they and you seem to dismiss the fact that his Associate HC title, earned by lifting his skirt to MS State, was essentially a HCIW deal. If Pittman wins a national championship he probably won’t be here another 3 years.

From a personal preference, I like the Enos offense better. I like for our offense to huddle up before each snap. I like some pro formations. I like the idea of not going 3 & out within ten seconds of game time to give the defense a bit more rest here and there.
It’ll also be nice to not be so dependent on rhythm for the offense to do good

Was it? Quite frankly if Sam doesn't work out I don't think kindle is retained no matter how good his ice cream is.

I’m looking forward to not wasting 1st down after a big gain.
A Briles thing that killed me was after a big gain we’d always hurry to the line and run the same belly dive for no gain.
It was maddening that he never seemed to work in another option to audible into.

I’m looking forward to not being a complete disaster if the starting qb goes out. I lost a lot of faith in Briles when I saw what our backup qb situation looked like three years into his tenure.
You can judge an offensive coach by how competent his offense looks with the backup qb in my opinion.

In addition to the fact they worked together previously, I'd wager that Pittman put a premium on QB development when thinking about Briles' replacement. That's something Enos specializes in.
Case in point: in Brandon Allen's first (and only) season under Enos, his completion percentage increased 10 points year over year, from 56% to 66%. He was a completely different quarterback than he was the year before under Jim Chaney.
In Austin Allen's first year as a starter, he was a 61% passer, and that was behind a terrible offensive line that rarely gave him time to make reads.
In Tua Tagovailoa's first season under Enos, his completion percentage increased 6 points to 69%.

We don't have near the OL that we had in 2015. No Tretolas, Kirklands, Ragnows, Skippers. That was a true road-grading crew.

Our line was worse this year and he rushed for 1,443 at 6.5 a carry.

Anyone checked SEC defense comparisons? Not going to waste time and look but pretty sure that was back when everyone was still playing defense vs the Big 12 everywhere now.
So I'll assume Enos > Finger Tape

Our schedule next year sets up nicely for having a new OC. Two practices against Western Carolina and Kent State, then a step up against BYU at home before we start conference play.

Ragnow is a starter, skipper is still in the NFL, Kirkland screwed up by skipping his senior season and Tretola had a small stint in the NFL.

I think Hornsby would have been a decent QB had he been given better player development.
That cost Arkansas some games last year.

Yep it is just astounding that much talent on offense was wasted.

hornsbly would never be great in what I still call division 1 upper level college football. Dude would get torn apart as a QB.

This is where the Briles love taints opinions. There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell that Hornsby is less talented than Liberty’s third string guy. It’s just impossible.
