Our Oline was Suck period.

I remember hearing Pittman say, "I got the best Oline Coach there is"

Uhhhh! We damn, get new spectacles and drink less ole cold beer maybe?

Something needs to change. With Rocket, and KJ... all we need is a decent oline and pound the rock at the goal line

Not every running play in the red zone was a QB keeper but alright.

No, but when you put the RB in motion more in the red zone than you do anywhere else, pretty much everyone knows he's not going to be involved in the play. How often did we throw to a RB in the red zone? Just because the fans are raising hell about the flim-flam plays in the red zone, doesn't mean you aren't allowed to be creative.

I don't know if you saw it the other day, but if not you should you tube the Apple Cup from a few days ago. I realize that they weren't facing SEC defenses, but there was some effective, creative offense on both sides in that game.

We've come full circle.

We'd be having the same conversation if they called a pass to Rocket and it was broken up/dropped/stopped short/sacked. The outcome dictates the opinion on this board. Not the principle.

Rev, I have been meaning to tell you that our obligations to the Aggies has long since expired. You can get rid of that abomination of a sig now.

Running the ball at the goal line means it has to be an A gap dive by the RB or QB?

Against a team like Liberty that's all it should take.

Maybe Briles needs a QB coach that can develop better mechanics.

We absolutely need a bonafide QB coach, or an OC that can effectively develop and improve QBs.

I'm not upset about Hornsby leaving at all, he should've left last year when he was teasing it. A few nights ago I was watching Malachi Singleton's high school highlights (our QB commit from this class), and I got curious how they compared to Hornsby's and Jefferson's high school tapes.

Jefferson has gotten slightly better touch on his passes and gotten slightly better at reading defenses since his HS days, but Hornsby hasn't developed or progressed at all. If you go watch his HS highlights, he is an exact mirror of himself now.

Jefferson has improved through live game action, but even he hasn't improved as much as you'd expect from 4 years out of high school. Their mechanics and throwing motions are still largely the same, KJ still doesn't have touch on his short and intermediate passing like high school, and it just looks like they really haven't been fully developed to understand the nuances of the game. Our coaches are still relying on them to "out-athlete" the competition instead of outsmarting them, out-execute them, or outscheme them.

The thing that excites me the most about Singleton is that he's already coming with a lot of these tools from high school; he runs the RPO there and can read defenses. He's a bigger/thicker QB like KJ but is faster and has better touch on his short and intermediate throws to the middle of the field.

The kid has a lot of tools to work with already, I just wish we had a stud QB coach to get him to elite level

Having an answer when it takes more than that is what even mediocre OC’s do for a living.

The entire point is if the Arkansas Razorbacks (Talent composite: #25) have an offensive line that can't get a 1 yard push against Liberty's (Talent composite: #142) defensive line, I'm looking at O-line coaching and personnel before I'm looking at the OC.

I think there is still a chance that Briles can develop a quarterback, and that Hornsby was just a flop. Briles has been kind of stuck with KJ, and KJ just doesn’t have what is needed to run KB’s offense. I’ve said before I’d love to see this offense with a QB who can make all the throws, incorporate the TE, and halfback screens in the offense, and a vertical passing game. What I fear is that this is KB’s offense, with little attention to the middle of the field, and keeping the pas rush at bay with effective screens.

I’d agree with that, but what they are supposed to be and what they are is often quite different. Alabama had an O line chock full of 5 stars a few years ago, and they never did own the LOS.

I knew after our first game this year that the only real stud on our offensive line was the center. Have any of them outside of Stromberg shown you anything this year?

Yeah, finishing in the bottom half of the conference in PPG is awesome.

Probably even worse when you look at conference games only.

Some kids are more coachable than others and some just can't do what is coached. A coach only has so much time with a player. The player has to take the time to practice on their own.

Not directed toward any specific player, just a general statement.

Stromberg is the only one of the offensive line starters that will be playing on Sundays. The rest aren't draft worthy.

What did Reid do to piss the coaches off? Great holder, especially for fakes. Average punter but the other dude didn't do any better. This feels like the biggest loss so far.

Stromberg has all the tools to be another great hog center in the NFL.

Forever be a Razorback? He's entering the portal. GTFO with that shite. Don't mind that he's hitting the portal, but don't come with that forever Razorback shite when you have intentions of going elsewhere.
