Yeah. Averaging more than 30 pts per game has been awful.

Doesn’t make up for 21 vs aTm, 17 vs State, 19 vs Liberty, and 10 vs LSU.

a good half!

I like him. Our fans can't see past our noses when it comes to not tolerating a bad hire or not being patient on a good hire

I understand criticizing certain aspects of his playcalling, but I don't understand the level of ire he draws from some people.

Shitty situational playcalling aside, he runs a 20/20 offense that nets a ton of yards between the 20s and can't score inside of it.

People point to our offense being 27th in total offense (read: yardage) which proves my point because we're also 51st in scoring and 78th in red zone offense.

He's also abysmal at preparation and game planning and thus we're sloppy in our first few drives which doesn't help when our defense is a sieve as well. Case in point, we’ve scored points on ONE opening drive this year and the rest have consisted of punts or turnovers. That’s…not good. Our second drives were a bit better, but not markedly better: 5 TDs, 3 punts, 3 fumbles, 1 field goal.

Cincy - punt / TD
South Carolina - TD / TD
Mo. State - punt / fumble
A&M - punt / TD
Bama - punt / punt
MSU - punt / turnover on downs
BYU - fumble / punt
Auburn - punt / fumble
Liberty - punt / punt
LSU - punt / field goal
Ole Miss - punt / TD
Mizzou - punt / TD

Briles isn't as bad as some make him out to be, but the apologists who continually point to yardage as if that's the telltale mic drop stat need to stop. Points on the board are what matter, and there's been a sizeable discrepancy between our yardage output and our scoring, especially in the red zone.

There's not much consistency out of Briles.

We look like we're stuck in the mud way too often.

Too much horizontal play calling over vertical.

Red Zone play calling is gimmicky HS bullshite.

QB development is a problem.

KJ shouldn't be making the same poor throws year after year. Those things should have been corrected.

Maybe Briles needs a QB coach that can develop better mechanics.

I think you can put a lot of that on our shitty line play. He can scheme his way down the field but when you get in the red zone and the field gets smaller some times you have to just put your big boy pants on, hit somebody in the mouth and ram it down their throat, which we’ve seemed incapable of doing for 2 years now( more like 10.)

I posted this yesterday evening but probably got lost in the shuffle. In the next week or so I’d expect an OL coaching change or a mass exodus of OL players to the portal. There’s not much cohesiveness in that room when it comes to the coach and his players.

Agreed.

Briles and Walker have taken the heat for our poor offensive showing and getting pushed around up front, but Kennedy has flown under the radar as a weak link in the offensive staff. We had problems with red zone scoring and goal line situations last year, and the line regressed tremendously this year despite returning a ton of experience.

Too much motion. Any sound defense isn’t going to fall for it especially that close and you can’t beat by 40 yards.. then every time inside the 5 we would run it 3 times in a row it seemed.

If Briles leaves, I would like Tom Herman or Mullens. Paying Odom $1.85M, I think we could pay Herman or Merlins $2M.

A good OC would have worked a way around the OL deficiencies, without resorting to flim-flam double reverse statue of liberty plays. We had success handing to the up back. Seems like he would have worked something off of that formation.

Not being able to protect when you need 6-10 yards, and not being able to run when you need 1-5 yards is definitely an OL problem, but predictable playcalling hurt us all season in that regard.

well last year we had an answer. Slant to burks. This year we didn’t seem to have a passing option for the red zone. That I will agree, is 100% on briles for not figuring out. I think a few fades to landers In the end zone would have been good just to keep the defense honest but landers hasn’t always been known for being the best at contested catches. Maybe hazelwood could have done it too but idk.

Everyone says that, but why? He wasn’t good at his last stops.

Sam want to make it 3 for 3 and get fired like the last coaches he was OC for?
