Interesting data here. This is a fairly new, few followers account, but he’s doing some pretty good work. He’s put some extra time in on Arkansas after our media reposted him. Or maybe he has Arkansas ties?

Scan the whole thread.

Summary:
1. Buyouts/severance are killing us. We were still paying Bielema, Long, Morris and Pittman during this timeline; since 2018.
2. Intended or not, we’re becoming (have become) a basketball school.
3. 4th in the SEC in football ticket sales? Anyone else shocked by that? With this shitshow over the past 15 years? That’s South Carolina level masochism.

”The fans carry the revenue. Football ticket sales were $46.2M (4th in the SEC); men's basketball, $11.4M (2nd, 3.7x the median). Baseball ranked 1st.

Football ticket revenue is up from $29.6M in FY2018.”

“Arkansas has paid severance in every year of the data: $24.2M since FY2018, 94% of it charged to football. That ranks 6th in the SEC.” The Pittman firings could add up to $10.5M more over FY2026–28.

“Of the $56.7M Arkansas added to its budget since FY2018, football got $12.7M and men's basketball $12.1M. Football went from $3.7M above the SEC median to $2.0M below it. Basketball went from $0.8M below to $6.9M above.”

I like it, keep leaning into basketball.

Hunter could totally redeem himself if he moves us to the Big 12.

Very misleading as it’s just the face value of the ticket and not the donation required to get the ticket. The data is basically useless without knowing the total cost.

Women's basketball is 8th out of 15.
Baseball is 4th
Men's track 1st
Women's track 4th

Everything else towards or at the bottom.

The lesson here is shitty cheap hires cost more in the long run.

Basketball was neutralized by Anderson voiding his buyout with taking the St Johns job.

shite coaches aren't able to get jobs to offset the buyouts Pel received every penny Heath and Anderson landed other HC jobs.

This is a point that shouldn't be forgotten. Mike could've sat on his arse and cashed checks, but he went out and got another job. Nothing but respect for Mike. He got his shot, it didn't work out and he left with class. I still consider him a Razorback great for his total contribution to the program.

If it’s apples to apples (just face value for all), that’s still staggering.

I asked Grok: “Review the athletic foundation contribution requirements in dollars for football season tickets for every sec school. Rank schools by who has the higher requirement in dollars in terms of seat quality. Make me an easy to read one-page chart summarizing the data.”

I quit the Foundation when I moved out of state a decade ago. That doesn’t sound right for us. Not sure about the rest.

Mike did a great job stabilizing the program, which allowed Muss to walk into a decent situation.

When Mike came in the program was at an all time low

I'll never forget the "Coming Home" hype video that dropped right after it was announced. Maybe the greatest one ever. I was ready to run through a wall. It felt like '94 for a bit.

The larger issue is all donations (99%) go to the general fund and are distributed by the AD.

HY set up the NIL the same way.

He doesn't nothing to fundraise for either and puts all additional funds raising on the staff.

This is where budgets come into play HY sets them, Silverfield raised additional funds for football when he was hired and that money went into the general funds and football saw a zero increase in their budget.

Is that money being held until next year? Or was it used to remain one of 9 SEC schools with a gymnastics program, keep the tennis programs, allow women's golf to remain tops in the SEC, and/or women's basketball top half while providing dead last results?

Directors cup, you know.
