You have to hire Bobby permanently at this point. He’s a high level coach and guess what? HE’S ON STAFF AND WANTS THE JOB. There’s gonna be several big openings this offseason that we can’t compete with, or can but our AD refuses to do so. BMFP

It's not just a talent issue, there is no depth on the front 7.
The biggest issue is poor roster management and coaching.
This falls at the feet of guys already fired.
The guys here are at least playing hard and keeping you in the game, a few weeks ago they didnt know where they were supposed to be and were not giving effort during the game.

Pretty sure defensive line was considered terrible. The projected sacks was something ridiculously low like 5 for the whole season, I feel like we mostly have sec players on offense.

CBP would save the salary necessary for a big oc which should allow for a larger assistant budget overall. Day dream scenario Petrino brings in Alex Mortenson to teach and train to take over after him when he's ready to retire in the future.
CBP is damaged goods nationally which means a lower HC pay rate.
Coaching salaries take away from revenue that could be shared.
Every school who used the company to handle their NIL has fired their HC in season this year.
Money hasn't and isn't the problem, laziness and incompetence has been the problem and that starts with HY.
This is also why the wealth of fortune 500 companies haven't been eager to dump money into the program for NIL everyone can see the incompetence from afar without needing to know the details.
Tyson gave Cal the NIL money for Cal to manage and control. With football NIL it goes through a company outside the university, thru HY who funnels some to Olympic sports and was left up to Sam to spend. See the problem?

the problem is that idiotic AD from Houston that we hired. He is arrogant, incapable of doing his job well, and lazy it seems.

Watching the Auburn game right now.
The difference in effort on defense from their team and ours is insane.
Speed, running downhill, swarming the ball etc.
Every. Single. Play. Our guys look like they’re on sleds.

Give Bobby the job by mid November. Don't even enter the coaching search bullshite. Its going to be an absolute circus this off-season with all the openings.
It feels so good watching him chew players asses again. We havent seen it in a decade. Saw him yelling multiple times for guys not running to the sideline fast enough.

Don’t bother. BP haters love to put a spotlight on his last 5 years as a HC or a combination of that and his second stint at Louisville. Most of them are either so blinded by hate or just too ignorant to realize that he won at least 8 games every season, except his last which started just after his dad passed away, during his second stint at Louisville. Or that he took a historically BAD Mo. State to heights they had only seen one other time in the entire history of their program.
The majority of them use cherry picked information to feign they are against him due to performance rather than just come out and admit that they are spurned little girls.
