I think the Bombers have lost 27 straight or something like that.

That football stadium is still good looking. And the fishing is always great.

Yeah, historically they’ve been shite at every sport outside of baseball and cross country. As someone pointed out to me, there was a fluke that they finished runner up in state now that everyone get in the playoffs.

I played football in Mtn Home in the 90s. We always lose because we have a small athletic program in a huge school district. When I played we moved in to a conference where we played Conway and the LR schools. We were completely outmatched.

The year they were state runner up wasn't really a fluke. That was their last good season. They beat some pretty good teams to make the playoffs and then kept winning. I forget the coaches name, but he bolted after that season to one of the Springdale schools. He was trying to emulate what Malham was doing at Cabot to make up for the talent gap. It worked.

Baseball, girls basketball, and track was about the only sports that I remember having any success. #sad

I am familiar with the District for sure and agree. Mountain Home has no business in 6A. The district may be large, but the population is quite small. Throw in small town politics and one of the lower property tax millage (funding issues) along with general apathy from the student population, and it's not hard to see why MHHS has been sucking some misery dick every year but one since the 80s.

Mountain Home is in a great area with a lot going for it, but its population is mostly poor white trash. Poor white trash doesn't give 2 shits about education or scholastic sports. I wish it were different because it really is a nice town, and there are some nice people in it that do care about education and school pride.

Try being a military recruiter for that area

Lots of great men and women I recruited/enlisted though in that area.

No jobs in the middle of nowhere though.

Tons of beautiful outdoors but I will say I DO NOT MISS DRIVING 62 TO MTN HOME FROM HARRISON. Fk that drive.

Whaaaaat? That drive is great. It would be awesome if those sneaky state troopers wouldn't hide out there ready to write some tickets.

Doing it many times a month, month after month, you start to wonder if you can jump the white river or how well one of the trees look to drive into. I worked a lot and drove a lot. Beautiful drive but its terrible. Also the state police do love that stretch, I got pulled over many times. Luckily the GOV plates got me out of trouble. Lol.
