He failed, but far from miserably. He was runner-up for coach of the year and has a career win percentage of 44%.

The dude is competitive as hell, and I'm quite confident he would like to give it another go to prove he's can cut it at that level. If given the shot, I think he goes back.

Wow some really shitty takes...

At the time? Really? We had just been blown out 3 times and were headed to a 4th to what is now clearly a terrible Auburn team.

We still haven't played a complete great game besides UGA and we keep letting teams back into games.

I'm glad we're winning and a 7-0 streak kicks arse but I'm not going to completely back track until we do it against LSU or Bama.

Need to win one of those for me to be convinced. That's greedy but if Bama can win the conference in year 2, we can expect to be closely behind them with what Muss was left by Mike.

Do we consider a 50% hit rate on transfers solid? Not sure what the baramoter is in the new environment.

And I will back track on Tate, he's a crucial piece now and has learned his limitations it seems.

I sympathize with this take but context is important. Bama is one of those senior laden teams that thrive in CBB. Muss walked into one senior (adrio bailey) who also had to be his starting center.

I mean some of that is just basketball. Great teams are going to have cold spots in games and let teams come back. Considering Musselman's record with the lead at halftime and especially at home, I don't think its a very big concern in general.

I think there are plenty of examples that point to Covid restrictions in the off season really causing issues with teams that have many new faces joining together.

For sure.

I know I'm being picky but we fired Mike Anderson to get to the next level.

We seem to be there much more quickly than expected but "there" to me would be knocking off LSU or Bama and finishing out the season 3-1.

All signs point to that being possible, I just want us to live up to the potential.

And absolute credit to Muss and the team for getting it together, the wheels appeared to be falling off in that Auburn game and something "clicked".

If the defensive and rebounding effort continues, we can beat almost anyone.

So the guy has us cruising to a pretty good tourney seed in year 2, while sitting in 2nd place in the conference when we were picked 6th and "the jury is still out"??? The only people who are still on the fence about this hire still have their panties knotted up over the bear wrestler leaving. I know we aren't "guarding them as soon as they get off the bus" but our defense seems to do ok. I'm tickled pink to have a coach that's obviously doing actual coaching.

The win streak is a little smoke and mirrors. Historically bad uk team with limited crowd, mizzou without Tillman, Florida after a long lay off.

Don’t get me wrong, we’re a good team just probably not the second best team in the league.

We have certainly had some things go our way but on the other hand, most of our losses were without Smith which we all know now how important he is to the team.

Every team is going to get "unlucky" at some points in the season, we certainly went through that. Great teams survive those points in the season and capitalize when they get certain advantages.

Kentucky and Mizzou loss away from being squarely on the bubble with tons of work to do year to go.

Yea we won but its not like we "cruised" to either.

Like I said, finish the season 3-1 like we should, win one in the tournement and I'm full steam ahead.

Find a way to blow the opportunity and land the dreaded 8/9 seed, I'll still be in wait and see mode.

Dude we’re not gonna blow everyone out. We have a chance at a sweet 16 run which is something I’ve never in my life (24). Where do you think we are as a program? We gave mike how many years and he had what.. 2 2nd round appearances and y’all were wanting to run this guy off year 2?? He’s done phenomenal some of you need to remember this isn’t 1995 Corliss Williamson hasn’t walked through that locker room in a long time. You sound like tennesse and Nebraska football fans. Be happy where were at and let’s see how far it goes. We’ve played way better than I’ve seen us play in years. If muss had coached portis or gafford I think we’d have a few more sweet 16 appearances too.

STLhog....you can hold the flag for the “whiny little girls” to gather around.

Hopefully you’re just bored and trolling.

In case you didn’t check, we have exactly one NC in basketball. I guess that means every other year was a failure.

Hey dipshit we won our first top 10 road game In 15 years. First time we’ve been ranked in years. Could play ourselves into a top 4 seed just what in the frick does your dumbass ole t*rd brain think is an acceptable season? I mean damn I hope you were ready to fire Heath, pelphry, and Anderson after year 2 because none of them were this successful this quick. And I’m not one to name call but when a numb nuts of your caliber continuously makes asinine statement after asinine statement and then has the audacity to name call others I have no other choice. Shut the frick up and watch the game or go root for duke and bama you miserable c*nt. Hallelujah where’s the Tylenol

Yes if we take away wins and imagine their losses the team looks worse. This is the kind of analysis i come to the board for right here, the real deep

Just win and the rest will take care of itself. The fact that Muss has a very good chance of making the tournament in only his second year is a lot better than the dreaded four or fifth year wait.

I said I was being overly critical and the letting teams back into games puckers my corn shooter.

A bad take, I’ll own it.

7 game streak streak is a 7 game streak. I just want one against LSU or Bama. Would be hugeLy satisfying. I’ll leave it at that.
