At a tailgate with some guys that are in the know yesterday. They said it was pretty much a given. Things may change but this was AFTER the loss to Auburn yesterday.

How? Why?

It is going to get so toxic and the negative recruiting will be insane!!!! There is no way he will be able to pull in guys this year, or next... like why??

He will be better off getting nothing but grad transfers this off season and betting the farm on winning with it like SMU is doing.

Gonna be tough to win any games without O’Grady. If he gets another year, 1-11 is a real possibility.

Ya o Grady is saving his life right now. Dude is a machine. He is right up there with henry, but he doesnt have near the team around him to let him really shine.

Legit staff changes won’t happen. He may fire some guys, but no coordinator worth their weight is coming to a program, moving their families, etc. knowing they’ve got a real chance of being let go within one calendar year. Any changes he is forced to make will result in hires of glorified GA’s like he has on staff now.

Another year?

No problem... I’ll just save my money rather than stupidly give it to self-absorbed assholes who can’t make better hiring decisions, or better yet leave hires to those better equipped to make them.

I read yesterday that there are mega-church personnel with a hand in steering Arkansas athletics? Seriously Arkansas??
That whole apparatus needs to burn to the fricking ground.

Let’s hope he does.

In spectacular fashion.

Or we can prolong the wallowing in his ineptitude and further reinforce to young athletes that Arkansas is a nice, soft place to go where expectations are nil.

WKU will go in dry on the Hogs. Ty was 21/30 for 283 yards hitting 7 different recievers yesterday. We will be home dogs.

We hear this every time a coach is massively underperforming. I don’t think anything is a given at this point. 3 out of the last 4 games are winnable. He wins those and there’s no way he gets fired. If he loses all 3 there’s no way he is retained.

HY is just hedging his bets at this point.

I seriously doubt this. The stands are empty. We have major recruits in positions of serious need decommiting. And that fake punt. Are you kidding me? We spent two weeks on that? Time to put a stop to the clown show.

It’s a long shot but say they start KJ the last 4 games and he looks good and we win 3. They can sell that going into 2020. I think that’s why they are continuing with the company line the Morris will be retained.

But yeah if things continue the way they are there’s no way he can be retained

I just don't see how you give him another year after losing to San Jose State in year 2 after going 2-10 the year before.

It is NOT a given. He may not be retained even if we beat WKU, winless in the SEC two years in a row is a MAJOR sticking point with this admin.

People are just assuming he gets another year because of the financial situation and are running with it. We lost one-million-plus dollars yesterday alone. No way they justify keeping him around if we don't win an SEC game and beat WKU.

I've heard this from "people in the know" myself. The people with power are mostly in agreement and united for once, the only ones unsure of firing him are concerned about the buyout only.

The only thing I haven't heard is where Yurachek stands.

Then I would want him fired for sitting KJ for 2/3 of the season.

I had thought this, but was corrected by someone who should know.

Our newest concession contracts have us making quite a bit of money and the concession folks losing their arses because of lack of fans at the game.

Season tix sales were still fairly strong and most of the empty seating has already been sold.

Optics are a killer, $$$ is not at this point.

They want to be able to keep him 1-2 more seasons for several reasons.
1. They love his recruiting ties to Texas
2. He is the anti-Petrino/CBB type. One was a control freak and the other didn't give a crap towards the end. CCM listens, talks, wins people over during conversations.
3. Boosters supported this hire who do not want to swallow their pride or pay again this soon.
4. In speaking with CCM's past co-workers, coaches, and those who hired him previously... they believe he still knows what he is doing in the long term.

I am being told another year is pretty much a given as well unless we go winless.. FWIW!

Jesus we're stupid

As to number 4, they're not going to badmouth him, especially when they're not connected to the team and have nothing to lose by supporting him.

Define fairly strong. It seems to me there were a lot of special promos this year. Nevertheless a lot of us were willing to give Morris the benefit of the doubt at the start of this year. Not so much now.

People aren’t going to continue to buy tickets that they know they won’t use

I was told that a less than 10% drop in season tix sales since the Petrino years. Several have dropped and others have picked them up. Commercial suite sales have also made up for the lack of lower $$$ seating sales.
