I think the only two teams they would offer an invite to are texas and Oklahoma. Do either of them make that move?

I mean we went to the sugar bowl. The year before that? We went to a number of cotton bowls we’ve been to the sec title game 3 times. We’ve had multiple 10 win seasons. Go back and look at our record before 2012 and tell me how we don’t belong in the sec. for the first 20 years both Mississippi schools were damn near automatic wins we had an almost identical record with auburn and won quite a few times over LSU and even bama before Saban took over ( I believe Alabama had a 2 game series lead on us before Saban) so please tell me how stupid my argument is..dumbass

Maybe before A&M joined the SEC but we're not getting anyone from Texas that they, UT or OU want. Then you throw in LSU and others that recruit there. I just don't see how it would be much different than it is now, maybe worse because playing in the SEC is attractive to a lot of kids.

I think we would fit in better and I also think it would help with recruiting. We are still a overall better program with a larger fanbase and money than Baylor Tcu Osu and Tech. Not calling them broke but if all things are equal I would bet only three schools would consistently be ahead of us in Texas in the Big XII. With that being said I would prefer to not run away from the SEC challenge

We have a losing record in the SEC and zero championships since we joined almost 30 years ago.

That’s fricking weak since I just told you the only reason we have a losing record is because we’ve had the two worst coaches ever the past 8 seasons.

What was our record before fatass and hammer down?!

We also didn't join the SEC to win. It was for $. Our fans should be thankful that move was made.

Nope, we had a losing record before they got here.

So the argument isn’t that we actually can compete, it’s about money? Tell me why a fan should care how much money the football team is paid to be the SEC’s whipping boy

No we are not. We are very much in the public eye as the "how the hell can that program be so bad" school at the moment. We are being laughed at on a National Level and we will be laughed at so hard it's nearly unfathomable if we were to move to the Big 12.

it would be depressing and would absolutley DEVESTATE recruiting. You think recuits are gonna want to come to a program that went back to back winless in conference and thought so low of itself it decided to move to a weaker conference? That's what every recuit would see us as. What in the frick are you smoking? It's gotta be crack.

I love being in the SEC West because I like the fact that we are competing against the best. I love playing LSU, Alabama, Auburn, and even Ole Miss every year. I don't see A&M fans bitching like little pussies.

Leaving the SEC for a mediocre conference would be one of the most stupid moves in college football history.

The point is that we aren’t actually competing. A competitive program would win their conference at least once in 30 years, no?

Most fans dont care about financial's, they want to see the team win. The university is different and care about the profit to be made when there is opportunity for profit. Same with NFL, Raiders have sucked, but they still made money and the owners have got a huge return on investment. Just because our stadium isnt full, doesn't mean we aren't raking in money. Like I've said many times on here, if there was a huge problem, people would have already been fired.

Moving to the SEC was capitalizing on money and Frank knew it. Just imagine how much less money wed have right now if we were in the big 12 instead of the SEC.

You seriously think Oklahoma State would have as many fans in our stadium as we would?

We would be leaving the most stable and lucrative college sports conference in America for a conference that is hovering on the brink of death.

Given that the SEC would respond to our departure by raiding the Big 12 we would likely be joining a Big 12 in even worse shape then it is now. If and when the Big 12 goes under, which would not take long, we'd be forced to find shelter in the MWC or Conference USA.

Arkansas would become the second coming of Tulane. All of our sports programs would suffer a grisly death as we spiral into G5 hell.

Other than that its a great idea.

As much as I think that the Big XII is a better fit for us, I agree with all of this. We'll never, and it wouldn't make sense (when you look at things objectively) to ever leave the SEC. Ever.

Top 20 or so program, closest Power 5 school. Pretty big number of cowboy fans close by...yeah I do think they'd travel for an easy W.

Eta: have you been to those big 12 college towns?? I have and I can tell ya..they'd jump at the chance for a road trip to Fayetteville over Ames,Waco, or way out in Morgantown

There is not a single team in the Big 12 that would have done any better than us with Chad Morris, Bret Bielema, Jack Crowe, etc.

The problem is NOT the conference. The problem is US and our stupid hires. Houston Nutt and Petrino didn't complain about the competition. Neither did any of the others for that matter.

Screw this Big 12 bullshite.

Technically petrino was a stupid hire in the long run. Look at where we are because of his decision making. This is why I find it laughable that fans want to cheat for short term success.
