I know it's easy to blame refs... But I can't remember a home team getting such bad action

The worst was basically the off the ball foul in the final 40 seconds.

Aren't you supposed to get some callas at home??

The South Carolina game was even worse

Arkansas started milking the clock too early. There were 3 or 4 possessions in a row during Auburn’s run when they ran the shot clock down and threw up a prayer

This wasn’t even comparable to the ac game imo. That officiating was a damn joke, it’s never gonna be great but exhaustion lost it tonight for us.

Played not to lose and Muss didn't call timeouts when he needed to.

That and the missed free throws were the difference in the game, despite the officiating. Not the first time we've done that with a lead. Gotta start moving the ball sooner in the clock in those situations.

It's nice to actually have a depressed feeling again after a Hog loss. I've been dead inside for many so years, when it comes to Hog basketball.

Can't wait to for Muss to bring in some elite talent to mix with what was left over.

I’ve started to wonder if it’s just our short bench and he knows the guys are getting tired. Slows the pace to try and conserve energy.

Pissed about the loss, but Muss is getting all he can out of the guys he has to work with. Us fans will always find something to be critical of, but he legit has just 6 options on the squad to play.

Doesn't matter if you slow it down or not if the defense completely gives out like it did at the end. You have to get stops and we didn't. If we hadn't slowed it down, they probably beat us in regulation instead.

I didn’t like it then, but he got away with it when Joe was on the court, It’s just not going to work with only one real scoring threat on the court.

I don’t think so, we were scoring on them pretty easily until we shut it down. We basically let them rest on D while we dribbled out the shot clock 3 or 4 possessions in a row.

I cannot stand milking the clock, especially against good teams. Musselman needs to explain his thought process behind that one.

It sealed our fate. We let them get right back in the game.

Our guys were wore out. Slowing it down wasnt the issue, poor shite selection on those possessions and poor free throw shooting cost us the game. But realistically it was a miracle we were in it at all with Joe out and Whitt MIA.

yep.

the coaching has got us this far. the defensive work is really impressive.

can nit pick slowing it down and some of the bad calls, but to knock off better teams, you have to hit the FTs down the stretch. fatigue, nerves, whichever, we just didnt hit em.

when Jones missed the front end around 30 seconds left, i started feeling we were toast. amazing night from Jones tho, and its a shame he wont get as recognized for it as he would if we won.

69 is the second most points Auburn has given up in SEC play by regulation.

But once again, it is extremely hard to win any game when you get out rebounded by 17. I don't think enough people know how crazy it is to be in a game with that disadvantage.

those last 3 or 4 auburn offensive rebounds were devastating.

not a whole lot we can do, still wanted to throw the remote through a wall.

Yeah as a Rockets fan I can relate too hard. It's something I've had to watch routinely for almost a decade now. Unfortunately Mason Jones isn't James Harden and that won't actually work 75% of the time like it does for them lol.

It's tough to watch but the analytics favor it. He's explained it over and over.

It's helped us win a few games we shouldn't have as well.

Yeah, the math didn't account for us not making a FG and missing a lot of FTs for the last 6 minutes.
He made the right decision, we just needed one shot to fall and we took a lot of bad ones

Yeah, at one point we were 2-7 at the end and in OT. FT shooting was awful.

It is pretty simple. We need 2 more players.

We get tired and miss FTs we'd typically make and lose just a 1/4 step on defense. We probably also tend to slow the game down more than Muss would prefer.

Ethan Henderson continues to baffle me. He's got talent but still looks pretty lost.

That said...yes...there were about 4-5 calls in that game that were just wrong. Sadly 3-4 of them when against Arkansas.

We all said earlier this season we could do great things as long as... we didn't get injuries. With our squad we couldn't afford to get anyone banged up.

Naturally we preceded to lose our best offensive threat. Oh, Joe has been out there, but he wasn't the same player he was before the injury.

We should have plenty of players to avoid this situation next season, knock on wood, but there isn't anything we can do about it this season.
