I challenge you to find me a dumber name than the Tulsa "Golden Hurricanes".

How does a school in the middle of the country choose Hurricanes? Then they just throw Golden on it to make it fancy. Make it make sense for me.

Tulsa last beat us in Frank's last year. They were the only D1 win in 2018. But anyway, F the golden showers.

Let’s not forget the Redbugs, although having been a victim of the actual critter many times, they are quite ferocious.
I think most of the names mentioned here, while odd or “dumb”, at least fit regionally with the team they are associated with. I think the point, when the OP called it dumb, is that hurricanes have next to nothing to do with Tulsa.
But to another poster’s point, if we’re gonna take the time to hate on an upcoming opponent, why are we skipping North Alabama?

I was a Wonder Boy for 4 years…definitely a strange name but they were for REALLY good years! And for a small school the Golden Suns (basketball, volleyball, cheerleaders) had some pretty decent talent
