played like men possessed. really our whole fricking defense , but you get my point.

leaving it all on the field for their team and coach. guys stepping up huge after someone goes down is impressive as hell.

I thought we were hosed with Bumper being out. Instead other guys stepped up big time. My God. What effort.

How would the last two years have gone if we had hired Pittman instead of Chad Morris? Where would we be now if we had?

Just imagine what we’ll be like when we have Gerald, Pool and Brown all back at the same time. The fact that we’re doing this with so many guys banged up is amazing. We had a walk-on playing LB (Woodard?) who I had never even heard of at times today

I wish the Broyles Award would pivot to being more of a true “did the best job with what he had” type of award rather than the Heisman-for-assistants ‘coordinator of a NC contender’ award it’s been for a while.

If it truly was the former, Barry Odom would have to be the front runner. What he’s doing with the our talent level on defense is nothing short of amazing.

I mean of all awards surely we can get him awarded the broyles award

NOOO!OO!OONOOOO!!!!!NOOOO!!!!

it isn't often that we see the broyles award winner not become a HC again very soon. So let's hold off a few years. ANd keep him here please.

Yeah I’ll admit I have been hesitant to get all aboard with Odom this year just because we had the great year with Robb Smith in 2014 too before being unable to sustain it, but this team doesn’t really have a Flowers, Philon and Spaight. We’re mostly doing it by out-scheming the offense. He did it at Missouri too without a whole lot of talent.

The difference is how odom is getting us there. Smith did it by ensuring the numbers games funneled you to three soon to be nfl players or the 8 other guys.

Odom is picking apart tendencies of the offense we play.

I know we’ve been rushing 3 and dropping 8 against offenses like Ole Miss and Mississippi State but I wonder if we should just stick to a 3-2-6 permanently when we get everyone back healthy. There aren’t many offenses left on our schedule who really run a pro style power run.

It gets Pool, Morgan, Brown, Jacobs, Clark, Brooks, Catalon and Foucha all on the field at the same time and when Gerald comes back I think he and Marshall should be able to hold their own even if they’re outnumbered.

Marshall is the season unsung hero of this defense. He’s the reason we can drop 8 and play zone even against teams like ole miss that won’t to run the ball because he damn near takes up 3 gaps by himself
