We had defensive players logging 90+ snaps on Saturday while Georgia had this. It’s no wonder we were gassed and they were still clicking like it was nothing.

But STLHog told us it was just typical Arkansas quit and that our players are weak

They're 20 year old kids.

Numerous teams with little depth have found ways to compete.

We got blown out in 2 quarters and couldn't even make a game with the #4 team playing as bad as they could possibly play.

Our team and administration seems to have been fine with rock bottom suck for 3 years. It's a problem.

I'd say leading Georgia for the majority of the game is finding a pretty solid way to compete.

The dudes that haven't won a conference game in nearly 3 years got gassed against one of the top teams in the country. It's okay. If we see this against your Mississippi States of the world, then I'll start getting concerned. Until then, I'm just happy to see football.

I would love to be proven wrong.

Just not going to do what everyone did after the A&M game last year and get my hopes up that this team is any different....

I hate it just as much as anyone but I'm going for extremely guarded optimism.

Eh, in regards to their offense, QB play was as bad as it could have been but the other stuff was more of Arkansas out playing them.

Their defense definitely wasn't as bad as it could have been

As others have said, a good sign overall but I don't think most are jumping on just quite yet. The bar has been so low that something like we saw last Saturday was something to be positive about.

If the offense improves and the defense plays like that most weeks, no reason we won't win some SEC games this year.

It's not like we played perfectly either. Blocked punt, pick six, another interception, turnover on a trick play pass, fumble out of the back of the endzone. Georgia played pretty bad in the first half but so did we.

I get that they get the benefit of the doubt that they won't play like that all season while people expect that we will just because we've been so bad lately. But we won't have that many turnovers in every game.

Yep, the score doesn't show how well the defense played overall. The offense rarely did any favors for them.

People point to the QB issues that UGA had in the first half which is true but you take the team we have fielded the last two years and UGA still scores at least 2 TDs in the 1st half just purely by running the ball.

I didn't fact check this and I was drunk as hell during the entirety of the game, so I'm not sure if it's accurate but I read Arkansas actually had more 20+ yard plays than Georgia did.

Yes, 4 to their 3 and their first play came with like 1 min in the 1st half to play

Even when they moved the ball in the 2nd half well, most were plays of 3-7 yards. We didn't see to many big plays like the last two years.

A&M is not nearly as good or has the depth that Georgia has for more than a decade.

We couldn't match Georgia especially a defense that has other players out for some reasons.

Georgia has an excellent punter. It was an asset to the Georgia defense.

Our punter aided the Georgia offense and hurt our defense.

Speaking of A&M, what does it imply that Vanderbilt is #1 on the list, ahead of Georgia?

Derek Mason knows defense.

This, hopefully when Odom goes elsewhere, vandy will fire Mason and he will come here...

100 yards of penalties didn't do UGA any favors either.

This is what happens when you get 10 or so 4 stars on D a year.

Some are busts but it is like poker hands - get a high pair a bunch of times and most are going to turn out to be good

It's actually a little worse than that. Just last year they had 3 5 stars and 9 4 stars just on defense and it looks like it was the worst of their last three years.
