If we win 4-5 games and just show a littoe fricking fight and heart and improvement, u hknetsky think Pittman can pull a top 20 class next year.

If we could ever get to around 8-9 wins again (which we used to do regularly) I honestly feel like Pittman could flirt with the top 10. Hell Petrino got to 16th one year and he couldn't recruit for shite.

Peavey? One of the Allens?

We've actually had a lot of 4* QBs since Petrino.

Brandon was a 3* and Austin was a 4*. Ty Storey was a 4*.

I want to say Petrino had a 5 star with Mallett, 4* with Wilson and another 4* or two in one of the kids who transferred out or one of the Dick brothers, I think Nathan was a 4* on rivals.

Hell I think even Nutt had done this during his time, I believe scout or rivals were high on some of his dual threat eventual transfers he was signing back then.

Of course even last year we had two elite 11 QBs and a 4* on the roster.

I know we've had some, they usually didn't pan out besides Wilson and Mallet. I'm excited bc all these guys can run as well as pass

Lot’s of 3* talent that never amounted to much.

Thanks for the research

It's worth noting that Starkel, Hicks and Townes all transferred over in recent memory too.

Just occurred to me though that we've had 3 5* QBs(Mustain, Mallett, Townes) in that timeline and only one worked out.

All true, but had there been 'star ratings' in their day there is no doubt that Bill Montgomery and Joe Ferguson would have been 5 stars, Jon Brittenum and Freddy Marshall at least 4 stars.

At least us old guys have those memories :).

The Dick brothers... man that sounds like something you'd either find in a porn movie or as a pro wrestling tag team... weren't astoundingly great but did alright here. I mean neither of them was going to carry a team to a great season but they were perfectly average game managers.

It is the 4 and 5 star misses we've had that really sting. Sure, some of them had great careers here and you will always have some highly rated misses but we had quite a few misses.

Or, perhaps I should say, quite a few misses while they were were. Storey coming back to lay a beat down on us is up there in the worst moments of Arkansas football.

Bite your tongue. Ty Storey will always be considered one of the greatest Razorbacks ever. His beatdown of frickstick Morris was the death knell of Morris' tenure as the head coach.
