I didn’t care for Beard, but I’m not getting my hopes up in a kid that couldn’t do squat at New Mexico.

Add a 6-5 Garland and we will have some height next season.

I'm really looking forward to watching Hall and Gafford develop their games more. If a few of these freshmen pan out early them there might not be as big of a drop as I thought we would see. Fingers crossed.

6-6*.

Lettered in track and has handles.

Probably a more developed version of Qualls at this point. Not quite as explosive (who is?) but very excited to have someone at that size, with those skills.

He and Hall will be matchup nightmares.

Guard depth is going to be much better overall.

Really good deep roster, more potential than this years squad.

Bookmarked for when we're middle to bottom of the pack, people are debating whether or not we'll make the tourney, and you and stone hog come to Mike's defense with arguments such as "it's not like anybody expected this team to be good."

Multiple. And they play defense, serious defense. We will likely return to a true 40 Minutes of Hell type of team next year, way more pressure than we saw this year.

Ethan Henderson is your #1 guy. He is Dan Gafford lite, rim protector, big time rebounder, one hell of an athlete that can run the floor with fantastic defense. Good luck getting to the rim when Dan and Ethan are out there together, forget about it.

I don't normally reply to the nega-Hog kids but I will this one time.

Middle of the pack in the SEC next year would equal another 7 seed, so yeah I'd sign that dotted line for that right now.

Key word I used is potential, as they will be very young. The good thing about that is the AAU connection, hopefully since they've been playing together for years and years already on the Arkansas Hawks, that will help smooth the transition.

Oh, I guess I just can't argue with you anymore. It appears you're ok with never, ever seriously competing for an SEC Championship and first weekend tournament exits. Hooray mediocrity!

None that I think are ready for SEC ball.
All will need a year or two. JMHO.
My expectations for next year aren't very high.

whatever our personal expectations were for next season... well, they didn't look great without Garland, with Gafford leaving, etc...

but, with the news of Garland and Gafford coming back, those expectation do look a bit better.

So, rather than crapping over a positive thing.. why not set back, enjoy a nice glass of your favorite drink and give a big ole John L Smile for once!

I am too. I was expecting the worst, but now maybe not so bad. Hope Mike has another big coming to replace Gafford when he does leave. Too bad we don't have an incoming freshman for this upcoming season.

Mike is going to have to turn it up a notch. The rest of the SEC is trending up. We need to follow suit. I hope we have a shakeup with the staff. We need someone with some fire to get after these players.

Is very athletic and 6-9 not big anymore?

Gafford is 6-10...

Don’t start this nonsense. The 40 minutes of Hell and WVU under Huggins pressing defense isn’t what Mike’s philosophy is no matter what fans want, hope or think he runs.

Mike’s fastest 40 press is to speed up the pace where our rotations aren’t intended to create turnovers and the press stops more often than not after the second pass. Not the WVU style to create havoc and turnovers.

I was about to say, our top 2 recruits are both 6'8-6'9 PF's that are crazy athletic.

Henderson will be a solid contributor from Day 1. I would look for him to be paired with Gafford come late in the season.

It will be weird, going from a guard heavy team this past year to a big heavy team. Defensive team versus offensive team.

I foam a bit at the mouth for a potential Gafford/Henderson/Hall lineup.
