The advantages that those chick players have been given are far and beyond the opportunities the majority of white adults of any sex and especially of white women that were born in Arkansas.

Lots of Arkansans have died in combat protecting that flag and that anthem and they never had anywhere near the opportunities given to them or their surviving family that those ingrates have been given by the people of this state.

This veteran has no problem with them peacefully exercising their right to free speech.

I would like to make it officially known that if any of you support kneeling for the national anthem, then frick you, you piece of fricking shite.

Lord knows that one can't have more overarching concerns besides one's own situation. They certainly can't be, on one hand aware of their privilege and the rarified stage upon which they protest, while simultaneously be protesting the racial injustices that still exist in our nation?

No, they're clearly just selfishly concerned about their own plight... because if you're selfishly concerned about your own plight engaging in acts of protest that gain the ire of the rednecks and hillbillies in your fanbase is a real smart thing to do.

All that being said: I dislike this form of protest, but they have every right to do it. I also think that while Kapernick has created a backlash, it actually has contributed to continued discussion of racial profiling.

Anyone read the story in the NWA Times today about the guy who got convicted of endangering the lives of officers. He was hole up on pills in his room and officers had been called for him endangering himself via an overdose. The officers broke down the door to find him pointing a gun at them with a knife in his hand. Officers peacefully subdued him via taser, despite the guy continuing to point the gun at them (later found out to be one of those realistic looking pellet pistols) and then waving a knife at them while they tasered. He repeatedly tried to slash them.

How do you think this would have gone down if he'd been some black dude on the street?

Are you denying that we have rednecks and hillbillies in our fanbase? Many of my immediate relatives would prove you otherwise. It can also imply other things. If I said your "homer fanbase" or your "intelligent fanbase" or your "diehard fanbase" would it mean that EVERYONE in that fanbase is all of those things? No, the phrasing can also refer to a segment within the fanbase. Sorry. I will amend the wording in my original post to be more clear, though.
