I'm not apologizing for HY, but it goes back beyond him. He was handed a mess and has failed to get us out. His resistance to NIL/portal has been his biggest problem.

The schools that jumped on it from the start are lapping him.

If nabors said anything I will believe everything besides anything he said. Dude is a hack who knows absolutely nothing about anything

That’s ridiculous. We hired Chad and Pitt, I assure you they aren’t worried about trying to spin a guy that is 50-24 and 5-0 in bowl games in his career. If he’s the guy he’s the guy but what he implied isn’t a thing

Could it be argued that Yurachek’s one true football hire was Pittman? And that was a fall back safe option after Kiffin’s MOU media leak debacle fell through. The Pittman experiment was given 5 years as a show of good faith to future hires & showed stability.

The fact it’s been so tight lipped this go around makes me think Yurachek doesn’t want to be burned again & he understands this is his make or break moment. HY’s NIL fumble could be seen as his biggest fault. This hire & how NIL is handled going forward will determine HY’s legacy imo.

Of course the powers that be could be the ones really pulling the strings now & HY is a fired man walking, and that would be fine too.

He could be competent behind the scenes, but how he presents himself does not inspire confidence at all. He may just not handle public speaking well or whatever, but the dude comes across as entirely out of his depth every time he opens his mouth. People nationally are saying the same thing now that he's having to be the face of the playoff committee, so it's not just us.

He’s been getting ripped everywhere & not just for tonight. Surely he hears it & knows he needs to do better.

He didnt just fumble NIL... he turned around backwards with the snap and punted it towards his own goal line.

If he hires Silverfield he might as well hand in his resignation at the presser.

I’ve gotta think even a lot of the anti-Petrino crowd would prefer BP to Silverfield

Different situation.

The fan base patience level wasn’t nearly as thin when we hired Chad. A lot didn’t like the hire but were willing to give him a chance. Compared to now, where you have fans ready to just be done with the program entirely.

With Pitt, there was a lot of built-in good will. The fan base was very familiar with him and he was almost universally liked, even if there was some concern about his lack of experience.

Silverfield won’t have that advantage. In fact he would be coming in to take the job of a guy who is still loved by a large chunk of the fan base.

It’s a recipe for fan revolt like Tennessee had a few years ago

Absolute hack. Just cries and talks about his feelings the majority of the time. Nobody would ever tell him anything.

He's kind of goofy but y'all are a little harsh on him. When I've heard him he's just reacting to information from a fan perspective, not claiming to have inside knowledge.

He has always come across as a bean counter to me. He not a charismatic leader. Every organization needs a bean counter but not as the face of the organization.

I asked earlier who our Clay Travis would be is this is a shite hire. Hopefully someone like Bazzel would go full melt.

I don't care that much, I just see him as more of the entertainment side of things than actual news. Nothing wrong with that if you're straightforward about it. I think if you listen to Nabors it should be from that perspective.

I do like Curtis Wilkerson for basketball though.

That is what I am telling myself as well. Not sure if it is just wishful thinking on my part at this point or not. He can't afford to frick up this hire. And Silverfield or Wommack just isn't gonna cut it, especially with the fan base. If he is going to go that route, just hire Petrino and be done with it.

I’d at least give Wommack a shot. Rather have Gruden over Silverfield and I don’t want Gruden at alllllll.

100%

I think he and Mark May had a plan on the TDC.

I bet HY doesn’t set foot in there anymore.
