Looks like JFB's house is on the market. E. Fay Jones designed, priced at just under $1.5M. I've had a number of clients on Canterbury Rd. over the years always wondered who had the property at the end of the cul-de-sac but was never nosey enough to ask or check property records.

It's a nice lot, that street can be a bitch in the winter though.

Reminds me of Alice Waltons house. Old school, but I like it.

An awful design imo.

It really is a terrible design I've never been a fan of Jones, I'm sure I don't understand the nuances of architecture though. I just know pretty and nice. I really want to do a "money doesn't buy class" real estate blog but it wouldn't help me out at all for selling ads. As bad as some of the customizations were and are now really dated, the home interior designs in a lot of homes on the market are trash and not staged well at all. Some sellers barely even clean the homes.

There are some atrocious custom homes in NWA.

Kind of reminds me of Estate from Modern Warfare 2.

He hasn't lived there in a while. His daughter moved in after he remarried.

Was shocked to see that the kitchen wasn't updated. Rest of the house looks great, but that kitchen

The design as far as architecture, of the house is great. The interior design and decorating is awful, though. Good grief. Some of those material choices and finishes are really poor... and don't even get me starteed on the awful, curvy overstuffed furniture.

You've got to work with the architecture of your house. I can't stand when people try to go modern interior with a prairie mansion subdivision house, and I can't stand when people go country rustic (or whatever that crap is) with a MCM or modern home.

ah, I figured the son that got in over his head in that real estate deal down by the new park needed some cash.

I think it's a bad arse house. Would love to have it. Even that shite kitchen. I'm one of the few people that doesn't care about kitchens, though.

You are a rare bird for sure. Kitchen and outdoor living spaces are the more important things for me and just good proper functionality and hopefully no neighbors.

Well, I have a nice kitchen because of that. Resale. But, I'm good with a small galley kitchen. I can even live with Formica.

I have never understood the fascination with E. Fay Jones houses. Thorncrown is great, but I've yet to see a home designed by him that I thought was even remotely attractive.

He may own that house but he doesn't and hasn't lived there for a long time if it is his. He lives in the historic district.

1.4MM?

I get it's a Fay Jones but Fayetteville Real Estate is a f-ing joke right now.

The Dallas influx has ruined that freaking market.

What kind of houses do you find "attractive"? Shitty run of the mill one step above United Built Homes?

You have to be pretty square to not think FJ houses are super cool and unique. Practical? No, but that isn't the point.
