He seems far more pumped about this year than last year after purging most the fat fuk recruits from the program.

His confidence is up, but damn I don't know if I can get swept up again just for another huge letdown.

But I just don't know of I can any longer until I see it.

It'll be easier to buy into once the season actually starts and what we see on the field actually resembles a competitive football team. The image of last year is strong. I can understand most people wanting to see first before buying into the talk.

That said, I expect a greatly improved team that's still missing a few pieces.

Seeing ty storey and Cole Kelley at qb last year should've tempered everybody's expectations before we even got started. I can see more reason for optimism this year, but after 2-10, ya can't be too careful.

After last year, I just hope we can go into 8 or 9 games knowing we have chance if we play our A game and have a little luck.

Grilling and drinking pregame is always fun, but knowing you're about to get your arse kicked just sucks so much fun out of it.

Dude is always pumped. I like his personality a lot, I want him to be our guy for a long, long time. He needs to give us a reason to believe in him this year. Making a bowl would do wonders to repair his image and revitalize us.

I don't think he's the answer. I hope I'm wrong.

We will find out real quick. Smashing Portland and beating MS on the road and he will have my full attention. A loss in either of the first 2 and I’ll go back to focusing on bow season.

Now granted, my morning coffee hasn't really kicked in and I'm half brain dead at the moment, but I don't follow this. How can you want him to be the guy for a long, long time, but also not think he's the answer.

He means he likes the guy but doesn’t think he’s a great football coach. Something many of you had trouble differentiating between with mike and the jolly old fat man. I’ve got good friends of mine who if I was the coach in high school would’ve never let step on the field because they just weren’t that good. Same concept, you can like someone away from the game but still not want them running your program

What's this all about? I still like Mike (as a coach even, not just a person), but am glad we made a change. I don't care for Brett Bielema at all. I wish we could somehow sue to get back about 6 of that 12 million we paid him to leave.

Thanks for explaining that post to me. Like I said, before I've had about 2 cups of coffee my brain doesn't work for damn.

Any new slogans? I remember last year he was pretty pumped too, with all the full-tilt boogie and left lane hammer down stuff.

I haven't seen too many goofy slogans this off-season. I'm hoping that's a good sign.

I don't think he's going to end up being capable of coaching to an acceptable level, but I'm really not stoked about the idea of four or five tepid and horrible seasons, and then starting the whole process over again. So obviously I'm rooting for him. I do like his personality, but at the end of the day, that's not really what's important.

I'm with you on this one. We need some stability within the program in the worst way.

The fact that hunting season corresponds with football season is the one thing that causes me to pause and wonder if maybe there is a merciful and loving god out there.

I'm not getting caught up in it this year. If they win five it will be a pleasant surprise.

My enjoyment and appreciation for life no longer depends on the Razorbacks having a 9+ win season, and a bowl win

and that really sucks!

Except that's not what he said. He said he hopes he's "our guy" for a long time. That means he'd be running the program.

I think we all expect around the same. Some of us just feel differently about it than others. Anything from 5-7 wins seems to be the consensus. If we somehow hit under that then yeah, this place will be on fire.

I told myself pretty much the day Morris was hired that these first two seasons we may as well toss in the trash. By the time Bielema left it was blatantly obvious he had done a terrible job with roster management. It'll take time to turn it around.

Having said that, I think they can make a bowl this year. The schedule is relatively easy. Or should be, anyways. Still yet, if they don't make a bowl, I'm right back at not really having any expectations until next season. Any expectations beyond winning more than they won last year anyways.
