I think we’re going to find out after we fire cashachek that actually there’s more than just 1 guy out there who’d be willing to coach in the sec for 5 million dollars a year with a 25 million NIL budget.

Like a Dallas coach from Springdale? Who from what I’ve heard just didn’t like the AD fighting NIL at every step. Is that true? Idk, but hearing others like Golesh thoughts on it, it was all Yuracheck.

But don’t worry, we will have a top women’s field hockey team, because that helps him win the directors cup that looks good on a resume.

Petrino’s offense was 12th in the SEC and tied for 89th nationally in offensive penalties per game last year.

Train wreck.

What in the frick is the point in arguing over Petrino? He wasn't hired. And it wasn't just Yurachek. Arguing about it at this point is just arguing for the sake of arguing.

In that case, I frickin hate your guts, because you don't agree with me on what's best for this football program.

The craziest thing about it to me is that people will bring this shite up to try and create some hypothetical scenario where if things had been done the way THEY SAY they should have been done, things would be just fine.

1. They have no way of knowing this.
2. They act as if people who didn't see it their way are somehow responsible for where we are and that is enough grounds to have an e-fight over it.

It's frickin bizarre.

Petrino wasn't hired. Let it the frick go. For fricks sake.

1. It's pretty easy to see this team is worse than the last two seasons, especially offensively.

2. This is just an insane strawman. The only disagreement is over how much blame Petrino should have gotten for last year and where he ranked within our hiring prospects once we struck out on/didn't go for any of the hires that actually would have improved the program. Not a crazy conversation to be having at this juncture considering the rubber has hit the road. Especially considering people who advocated for Petrino were treated like second-class citizens on this board for months. If you think the conversation is pointless, don't click the thread. It's not hard.

I still don't know if BP was the answer, but sheesh, we botched Golesh, Sumrall, Morris, Wommack, Baker, ....should I keep going...?
So many right choices and this was what we decided....

Not to mention Jeff Traylor is STILL available.... all he has done is build a solid program at a nobody school.

This is where I was. Did I want Bobby sure, would I have been happy with Mullens? Yes (proving he needs a strong GM or he can’t win with his refusal to recruit). But why not take Briles? Can he only be white washed as an OC? Half the league is running his offense. Bob Chesney? Looking decent in the hellscape of LA. Eric Morris? Wrong last name?

None of our problems get solved as long as Yuracheck is here. And who knows probably a considerable amount of the BOT, who think kids choose schools based on education and not on college life and that sucks without a decent football program.

We knew from the moment Memphis beat us last year that Silverfield was going to be the coach, and that shows how useless and ineffective Hunter is.

This is all that needs to be said.

BP wasn’t the right hire. Would our offense look better? Almost for certain. But if it weren’t for HY we’d have plenty of other options. He botched the Golesh thing. He doesn’t have a good reputation in the coaching circles. We didn’t “settle” for Silverfield because of lack of other interest. Surprisingly our dumpster fire of a program isn’t the concern…it’s HY. Fix that and let the next AD make the next hire (most likely at the end of next year)

I’m not even all out on Silverfield, if he actually got a good OC, if we get a good GM.. because if this is his talent evaluation, he needs to go too.

But the definitive is we need Hunter gone.

Who was the original OC he hired? I can’t remember now but wasn’t it a pretty big get?

Even with NIL and transfers, turning over the roster in a few months is an impossible ask. Limited time to actually evaluate who on the roster can play at fits into your scheme.

My biggest concern with Silverfield right now is the season starts so poorly we don’t ever get on track.

If we lose to Tulsa, sheesh it’s gonna get even uglier real quick. Fortunately all the hate is directed at HY.

Clint Trickett has hired as QB coach I think. Before taking another job. Not sure we had anyone by Cramsay targeted for OC

Uhhhh..... didn't seem to be an issue for Indiana.... Doesn't seem to be an issue for LSU right now.

It was the DC he lost. Went to the NFL I think.

I’d argue both those schools were in a better starting spot. IU brought in a ton of guys with Cig that worked out. They didn’t play a ranked team until Nov. Their first game was a 31-7 win over FIU. They also had better QB play, something we’ll have to address.

LSU not even comparable. They have more talent on paper, regardless of Kiffin.

And I don’t think Silverfield is anywhere close to the same level as Kiffin or Cig so I don’t expect the same turnaround. That being said, going winless in conference year 1 isn’t going to cut it and year 2 should be minimum 7 wins.
