It’s going to be Kiffin, calling it now. Best possible hire.

I hope so, but at this point when I see certain posters cocksure that a deal is already in place causes me to think it won't happen.

He better bring Briles with him if he hires him.

In my opinion, Briles or not the staff situation and recruiting is what makes Kiffin so attractive.

We could pay him less to begin with, but give him serious money for the staff and he would likely jump at the chance. He would be able to put that staff money to good use and we could give him a raise when we see the results on the field.

We just have to make sure he would have a non compete for the rest of the SEC, because other schools would love to snag him if he succeeds here.

He would have no trouble bolting for another job, too, if Tennessee taught us anything.

This was one of the arguments with Morris and he proceeded to hiring the worst staff in the sec.

Sometimes I think they give these guys fake leads so that it won’t draw too much attention to the real candidate.

Kiffin is the closest thing to a 2008 Bobby Petrino hire, IMO.

In every possible way. Strong hire? Check. Will be successful in short amount of time? Check. Will end in disaster? Check.

Morris has no fricking contacts in major D1 football. Kiffin has contacts every where in the country to put together a staff. Two completely different situations.

Isn't he BFFs with Gus and Dabo? I'd imagine he has some contacts out of that.

Well he obviously didn’t because he brought his shite staff from SMU and hired a 100 year old guy as DC.

in all seriousness

Kiff, with an oline coach like Pittman, and a really Good DC would wreck shop in recruiting and possibly on the field. But yes, we would most likely have to deal with some unexpected trolling and off of the field antic fairly often.

I think he has grown up a bit, but I had to laugh with the blind officials meme he posted on Twitter a few weeks ago. He was fined, and then contributed the entire amount to the GoFundMe set up for his fine.

Idk how this doesn't make you want him more. I'm fricking sold after reading that. This is how you recruit. If he had done that here we would be getting 5* guys attention. Come play for the trump of college football. Wealthy. A full blown troll who is cool, lawless, and funny. Coached in the NFL. Provably views Bobby's success as what have should have been his success, but only better because he wanted this job in 2007, and was pissed he didn't get it.

I mean how could it really get any better for us? Him+kendall is the offense we deserve.

I don't get the feeling Chad and Dabo are as close as some made it out to be. I think they are good friends, but at the end of the day not besties.

Interesting hearing baby Morris talking to USCw.

I think the best thing about Kiffin would be the media exposure. Regardless if he leaves in 2-4 years, the media exposure is worth it to show the world NWA.

Eh, you can have contacts and not use them. He was convinced that Craddock was some sort of savant and fell for the Chavis hype. I think he was just arrogant and wanted 'his' guys. It just happened that his guys sucked.

Biddy say's

Kiffen and Leach are the top two right now...

Which means, neither are coming.

What I heard about Kiff a few days back, that I poste.. still holds I guess.

He has been vocal about wanting the job via Sexton. He wants his chance back in the SEC to prove his ability. Wants the facilities, and the competition.

Leach isn't as vocal as he once was...

Norvell has kind of disappeared from this a bit at this time. Not sure what to think of that.

Him hiring Chavis just makes me realize how insulated some coaches must be. I feel like since coaches are busy every Saturday that fans are sometimes more in tune with how good coordinators are than the coaching industry itself. Morris probably hired Chavis based off of others' recommendations and his head-to-head matchup with him from all the way back in 2012 when he was at LSU, not realizing quite how bad he was at A&M.

With how much time is put into preparation and planning, logistics, etc. on game days it must be difficult to pay attention to other programs. Still all you have to do is look at his stats from A&M to tell it wasn't a good hire.

The question was never about LK coaching. It's the off field stuff.
It's risky but if you're trying to hit one out of the park risk is involved.

It kind of feels like Norvell is holding out for the FSU job and possibly waiting for other sec jobs to open up (possibly South Carolina). Who knows, he may be in the USC mix is Urban is Def. a no from their admin.

He coached west coast area before.

The Kiff train is probably the most interesting hire there is. He's splashy, but has he really grown up if you give him another big time job.
