You can say the same about pitchers and spin rates that have them working on their second tommy john before their 30th birthday compared to Maddux who stuff was nothing spectacular.

Kyle Hendricks was a mini Maddux. I think he topped out at about 92 mph on his fastball. But he was a machine on location on FB, and all of his off speed pitches. Truly a machine when he was on. Frustrated the hell out of the opponents.

Not disagreeing with you, just the swing for the fences gripe is on level with football teams not having a fullback now days.

Our pitching depth is pretty lackluster this year as well, it's why we get shelled midweek by teams like Arkansas State and Stetson. Outside of our top couple of bullpen arms there is a steep drop off. Drop a game early in a regional or Omaha and it will be very tough to battle back like we've seen prior with TCU/KSU dropping 20 runs on us. Starting rotation is great so far, and the top couple bullpen guys are really good though.

I think it's a team that can still put it all together later in the year, lot of roster turnover give them time.

The Aloy in RF experiment needs to end. When you're dropping balls you're camped under it's time to just DH.

Just forced Gaeckle into like 8 extra pitches.

Souza looks so much better at the plate. You can tell he's seeing the ball well tonight.

We’re allowed to have production from the 9 hole? Is that legal?

Pompey got in on the action too. Hell yeah.

Hope this starts an upward trend for him. Did not like Robinett at 3rd one bit.

Holy shite I feel like some demons were exorcised with the Pompey walk off. I love situations like that in sports where a guy who’s been benched or struggling comes out of nowhere and does something heroic.

Happy for Pompey. Hopefully this sparks something in him to make things click. What a moment.

Once again our offense barely pisses a drop.

Hogs lose game of the DH 7-2. Didn’t push across our 2 runs until the 8th.

We're really good at the striking out part of the strikeout or home run offense.

This pitching staff and Helfrick are going to take us places. Maybe not a championship, but some cool places.

We probably should have had 2 or 3 homers tonight under normal circumstances. Will be interesting to see what the offensive numbers do once things warm up for good, though we still strike out WAY too much.

Pitching is as advertised. Very reassuring.
