He is a good running back, and I’m fine with him being back. I just don’t want to over pay for running backs. The NFL has proven you can get just about any back and have them gain 1000 yards or do it by committee if you have a good enough line. Buy lines first.

It was part exaggeration, part expression of pessimism, part excuse to use the term silverdicked

I get it. My response was part excuse to use the term hogmageddon.

I think it's a good start for the RB room. Hopefully Settles returns also.

My wish list at the moment from the portal:

CJ Baxter 6-1 227 Texas
Michael Allen 5-11 215 Marshall
Omiri Wiggins 5-10 206 La Tech

Kid from Liberty is rumored to hit the portal and would become a priority if so.
Also, don't know if he will portal but the RB from Washington would fit nicely in the SEC.

I agree. Living in El Do, I watch Tech quite a bit. They have some SEC caliber defensive guys too.

I’ve worked in north Louisiana in the past and there’s a lot of talent in that area. Union parish, Monroe, Ruston, Shreveport, hell even small schools like Haynesville right across state line all produce sec level players. That’s an area that we should target more than we do imo. Tech has a safety that was an all American this year as a senior. Surprised nobody got him before this year out of the portal

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I heard they estimate around 8000 players, FCS and FBS combined, will enter the portal this year. 8000!! That’s basically one-third of all players. Crazy.

Bert was the only guy I can remember who tried to hit North LA hard. Devin White from Springhill and we had a LB from Haynesville that never payed that much.

Yes, lots of talent, but Saban raided Monroe back in his day and everyone else grew up wanting to go to LSU.

Very hard to get those kids out of there, even if they're 4+ hrs from campus on the border.

I always said if U of A were located in Texarkana, we'd have Oklahoma's history. That's actually one of the ebat recruiting grounds in the country. East Texas/Dallas, S Ark, and N LA all within 150 miles of your campus.

Lived in Louisiana over 20 years. There’s also a lot of Razorback fans in that area so it’s prime grounds to be able to poach some Louisiana talent.

Silverdick the new Mullen
According to a former coach of both Silverdick and Mullen they share quite a few similarities. As bad as you chubbed up for Mullen, you should be excited about Silverdick.

Silverdick doesn't walk around with a smug arrogance and false sense of accomplishment like Merlin's does.

And he also doesn't walk around with an "aww shucks let's have a cold beer baw" bullshite shtick either. Have we seen any sort of thank you and goodbye note from Pitt yet?
