His commitment picture shows him in a OL stance but 247 lists Odom/Ashley as primary/secondary recruiters.

The Arkansas Razorbacks have picked up a commitment from Memphis (Tenn.) Christian Brothers defensive tackle Patrick Kutas, who was one of Arkansas' biggest remaining needs in the Class of 2022.

According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings, Kutas is a three-star prospect, the No. 90 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 21 overall prospect in the state of Tennessee for the Class of 2022. 247Sports gives him a similar listing, as the No. 115 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 23 player in Tennessee.

Kutas, 6-5, 285, released a top four that included Arkansas, Florida State, Oregon and Illinois on July 4. He also holds offers from Tennessee, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and many others. Arkansas offered the two-way standout in February and has made him a priority target ever since. He took his official visit to Arkansas in mid-June.

"The fans are one thing. They are diehard and crazy," Kutas said after his visit. "I like that. The atmosphere is great around here and obviously. I love the coaches around here. They are line guys so that helps me a lot.

"(Coach Sam Pittman) is really trying to change the program. Everybody I have talked to says his focus is straight. He's working hard to try to turn this place around and really make it a top program.

Kutas was hosted at fellow Memphis native Marcus Henderson, is being recruited to play for first-year defensive line coach Jermial Ashley.

"Coach Ashley is great," Kutas said. "Obviously he's pretty big. His enthusiasm. He's a great defensive line coach. He won at Tulsa. He did great at there. It's exciting to know his history is great."

Kutas also took official visits to Oregon (June 18) and Illinois (June 4). He is the 16th commitment in Arkansas' class, which ranks 18th nationally and seventh in the SEC. He is the 10th highest-rated recruit on Arkansas' commit list and is one of three defensive linemen. The Hogs also have DL commitments from tackle Nico Davillier, 6-4, 275, and end JJ Hollingsworth, 6-4, 250.

On his commitment graphic, he is listed an "OL-DL," so it is possible he could end up on the other side of the football, as well. There are currently three offensive linemen committed to the Razorbacks in E'Marion Harris, 6-7, 370, Andrew Chamblee, 6-6, 285, and Eli Henderson, 6-4, 290.

Kutas is one of two commitments out of Tennessee. Earlier this month, the Razorbacks added the pledge of Brownsville (Tenn.) Haywood cornerback Jaylen Lewis, 6-0, 175. The Hogs have commitments seven different states, including Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, but at this time there are no commitments out of the state of Texas.

The Razorbacks are expected to hold a big event the last week of July before turning more attention to the start of fall camp on Aug. 6.

Patrick's commitment seems to have caught our recruiting writers by surprise because they didn't have quotes on his commitment and articles drafted.

Hadn't heard much about him. RD saying OL not DL.

A four man OL class of Chamblee, Harris, Kutas and Henderson will do.

We need quality DL.

Yeah we need DL worse but I liked his tape at OL a lot better. Unless we land one of the big fish at least it’s nice to know we’re done at OL.

No idea who our realistic targets are for DL now though. Might have to go to the portal again for it.

I think we trend to portal for interior DL. The experience and being in a college weight program seems important to Odom/Pitt.

Duncanville (Texas) linebacker Jordan Crook has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. The 6-0, 225-pounder went public with his decision during the Hogs’ recruiting cookout on Saturday afternoon, becoming the program’s 17th verbal pledge for the Class of 2022.

Crook, a three-star prospect according the 247Sports Composite rankings, originally committed to Oklahoma State but backed off that pledge following his official visit in Fayetteville in June. In addition to the Razorbacks and Cowboys, he held other scholarship offers from Baylor, Michigan, Nebraska, Missouri, USC, Washington, Texas Tech and many others.

Crook took official visits at Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech last month.

The stocky linebacker was recruited to Arkansas by first-year linebackers coach Michael Scherer. Crook is the Razorbacks' first addition from the state of Texas for the Class of 2022.

According to the Composite rankings, Crook is the No. 57 linebacker in the nation and the No. 82 overall prospect in the state of Texas. 247Sports lists him slightly higher, as the No. 49 linebacker in the country and the No. 54 player in the Lone Star State.

As a junior last fall, Crook helped Duncanville reach the state semi-finals with 93 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 3 interceptions, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns. Crook played for Dallas (Texas) Bishop Dunne as a sophomore, and Mansfield (Texas) Lake Ridge as a freshman.

With the addition of Crook, the Razorbacks’ 2022 class goes from No. 21 to No. 17 in the nation. The Hogs also pass Missouri to claim the No. 6 spot in the SEC.

In addition to Crook, Arkansas' defensive class includes four-star safety Myles Rowser of Belleville (Mich.), three-star cornerback Jaylen Lewis of Brownsville (Tenn.) Haywood, three-star defensive end JJ Hollingsworth of Greenland (Ark.), three-star defensive lineman Nico Davillier, three-star linebacker Kaden Henley of Springdale (Ark.) Shiloh Christian, and three-star linebacker Mani Powell of Canton (Ohio) McKinley.

The Hogs' 2022 class includes eight other players on the offensive side of the ball in Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove running back Rashod Dubinion, Little Rock (Ark.) Parkview running back James Jointer, Clarendon (Ark.) wide receiver Quincey McAdoo and tight end Dax Courtney, Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes offensive lineman Eli Henderson, Maumelle (Ark.) offensive lineman Andrew Chamblee, Memphis (Tenn.) Christian Brothers offensive lineman Patrick Kutas, and Little Rock (Ark.) Joe T. Robinson offensive lineman E'Marion Harris.

The Razorbacks also have a scholarship commitment from long snapper Eli Stein of Cambridge (Wisc.) and are expected to sign a punter to scholarship in this year's cycle.

Sounds like a punter plus Anthony Brown and that could be it for high schoolers in this class

I wonder what made him not want to go to the Big 12?

This kid is a good example of how knocking down the other Big12 teams will benefit us in recruiting.

247 was saying earlier more like 20 (Crook, a punter and maybe 1 more). And by doing so we're apparently leaving Chas Nimrod hanging out to dry, who also just picked up an offer from Michigan.

Damn shame to see an instate highly regarded local kid get left behind, but these WR offers have seemed to be all over the place this cycle. It's like half of the offers aren't even commitable.
