I'm surprised we got him on campus to OV.

When those other two DBs flipped to Auburn no chance he was flipping to us. Louisiana kid with little competition at his position and help LSU with the other Lafayette kid committing to them.

I'm sure he was taking advantage of the coaching search but wasn't in the process of flipping.

All about attention it seemed. What's strange is, apparently the Arkansas coaches thought they were in a good spot with him. I'd assume he kept them on the hook, too.

He had a better shot flipping players from Oklahoma.

You called this the whole way. I had a twinge of hope it might be real. Oh well. Still a great class

Looks like we may bring in as many as 7 guys with all the ones transferring out. I guess with Welch being a no go, this means we have at least one more HS slot available, too. I wonder if they just push it forward to next year, which looks lije one of the best classes the school has ever had to start off with.

I'd guess carry over and use portal for a few more guys. But you never know what might happen elsewhere.

Yeah my guess is we had a real shot before those 2 4 stars flipped to auburn but with that he saw not only a chance to play at LSU but a chance to play early

I wanted to be wrong but all the warning signs pointed that the official visit was just a tease. He lives within a few miles from Baton Rouge, probably grew up a fan, LSU is a much better prestigious program two years removed from a title and it was a position of need for LSU. I think Sam and staff were being a little dishonest when they said they had a chance because they couldn't say anything negative.

If I was Sam I wouldn't waste the time going to South Louisiana, LSU gets the far majority of it's players in that area. South Louisiana recruits seem to show more loyalty in the state from decades of recruiting. The exact is opposite in Oklahoma where they lightly recruit the state and Arkansas has a lot of fans in the Tulsa area which gives Arkansas a much better opportunity of getting players than South Louisiana.

I assume we will go hard after Norwood now to fill a CB slot. Most portal guys typically want to get closer to home, and with what appears to be instant playing time in the SEC, I don't know how it doesn't make sense from both sides, unless something major happened during recruiting.

Pittman did say today during his presser though, that you try never to burn bridges for caes just like this.

Plus, I figure he already got a hefty sum last year from Dumboz so maybe he's ready for action now.

A guy on the coaching changes board that claims to have connections is hinting at Briles taking the LSU OC job FWIW (which is probably not much at all)

If he does it will be hard for me to root for this program. Just a sign that nobody that is in charge of shite on the hill actually gives a damn about winning just lining their own pocket.

I still think they hire Denbrock. He coached with BK at Notre Dame, went to Cincinatti and proved he can be a quality OC, now he will return to the BK fold.

Sounds like we find out today either way.

Pittman did just have a statement yesterday about having no expectation of any coaches leaving but we know how that goes.

Briles just offered a 2023 QB out of the Nashville, TN area in the last 50 minutes.
