I am guessing that Cal and Payne went after both Wilkinson and Johnson and we ended up with Wilkinson.

No he wants Jasper too, badly for whatever reason. Would be the Knox spot.

Stokes signed a deal with Nike, Kansas is an Adidas school so they are most likely out.

A lot of smoke that Moustapha Thiam visited today and were the leader. That would make us an instant title contender and top 10 team next year

Would be a homerun get for sure, absolutely nothing credible about it if he did but Cal has been working in the dark to say the least.

Negative, Kansas still leads for Stokes. His Kentucky visit did not go well just like Wright's. If UK wants him they are going to have to overpay big, word is around $6M. And that begs the question about how it's even going to work out if you have to overpay that much for a guy because he doesn't want to be there.

quote:

247Sports national analyst Travis Branham echoed that sentiment in an interview with the Herald-Leader on Wednesday afternoon. “With Stokes, you never rule anything out. Ever,” Branham said. “But, based on everything I’ve gathered over the last couple weeks, including most recently, I believe that Kansas is the leader. Again, there are so many variables to this recruitment that him ending up at Kentucky won’t surprise me. “But my sources, and based on my information, I would label Kansas the favorite still.”

Hopefully Thiam is a bully down low on defense.

RIM PROTECTOR. Strong rebounder. Shot blocker.

He is elite defensively, top 10 DRTG in the big 12 last year and even higher via barttorvik where he has the 12th highest DRTG in the entire portal and in the "elite" tier.

7'2" 250lbs ain't no joke, although his rebound numbers for his size could be better, but Cincy was also a 15 loss team and that definitely matters some.

He ended the season scoring 18, 16, 24, 28, 21. He went up 1v1 against Flory Bidunga at Kansas and that was his season high 28 point game. Absolutely abused Bidunga. Rebound numbers skyrocketed late in the year too with 16, 10, 15, 10 rebound games. Five double doubles in final 8 games. Ceiling is elite level.

I pray for once we pay up for a big and it's him like we do guards. He is one you go all in for and that can make you a legit natty team.

Think he has been offered around 2.5mil from NC and one other school. Would be able to somehow land this guy.

Well on the flip side NC can't afford both Muurinen and Thiam so maybe we get one or the other.

Acuff was just about through in college when he signed, Stokes hasn't even enrolled anywhere yet.
But, I guess 'who knows?'

Would be nice but not exactly what I had in mind if that's our only other big. Kid is 17 years old.

I think Sealy is going to be a good player for us next year. He's got a high motor game which we need. Hopefully Billy comes back and we can have them both on the floor more next year together.

Billy still hasn't even declared for the draft has he? Been pure silence. DraftNet update last week has him undrafted but now up to #18 on 2027 mock.
