Money isn’t everything

If he ends up not coming here, my guess would be the money was close enough for playing time/how he’d be utilized/etc. were the deciding factors.

Final year of school after withdrawing from the draft and being told that you need to improve… Would you rather be the feature guy or a role player?

You don't think he knew how he would be utilized before his visit?

It's about the lack of money pure and simple.

Muss isn't struggling putting players in the league.

That’s why I added etc.

The point I was making is something else besides money could be the deciding factor for him to go to bama.

All the information we have says otherwise imo

Go talk to Bama fans regarding their thoughts on their own NIL.

Muss already said he was playing a lot of 4 guard this season.

We just saw how having 2 skilled big men down low combined with elite guard passing and shooting just dominated the NCAA tournament.

Is this team still going to be a top 15 team next year? Yeah, probably so, but missing out on both Nelson and Holland is a big blow, no matter how you slice it.

I legit live in Alabama and talk to fans daily. It is all about the money. They're throwing bags around like bags of candy.

They have already lost recruits because of money this cycle. Maybe something magically changed super recently but doubt it. Bama has the leg up on us outside of money when it comes to the Nelson situation. That appears to be the issue.

What about Dandridge from Memphis? I know we offered him out of HS. He could be a decent late get if Nelson falls through.

I’m guessing he is going to float it unless he finds someone that could have some type of impact on next season.

There are some benefits for floating one until we get closer and into the basketball season.

That has a whole different meaning on some websites, you know...

Anyway, is this the way recruiting has changed to for good? High drama for your last two or three every year?

Basically every major national guy says that no one outbids Arkansas for a basketball recruit if Muss really wants them. Nelson needs to prove he can hit the three (he’s been on a steady decline throughout his career) and the word is that Alabama used Walsh’s “handcuff” remark to negatively recruit against Arkansas.

I still think it comes down to us having a 1st rd pick lock at his same position and role more than anything.

And there's a good gap between those 2 as well, from ceiling to athletisicm to 3pt shooting. Trevon probably ends up in the lottery, or just outside (#23 now).

Of course. They'd be stupid not to. Part of why it's stupid for Walsh to say what he said....
