Am I spoiled because I’m not happy with a 1-0 win? I really wish we could get better on offense. We put too much pressure on our pitching staff.

It feels distinctively like we should have lost with a performance like that, so no, spoiled isn't the word I'd look for. I do get that it's a ranked SEC team on the road, and we were actually making great contact. Just one of those nights we were hitting it right into their gloves. I've been fed up with our ebbing and flowing bats for some time. It's felt forever like we rely on one big inning after the starter is pulled, or a timely hit after some walks. If we don't meet those conditions, we're mostly rudderless.

But, man. Three out of four conference games have been shutouts so far. Six more games on the season have seen the opponent score only one run. Seven counting Oklahoma State, who needed the 14th inning to hit their second run. We've held the opponent to one or zero runs in half of our games played.

We do such limp dick things.
I had to listen live but just caught the highlights.

WHAT THE frick was Aloy thinking taking off for 3rd on a grounder to the 3rd base side of shortstop? This is baserunning stuff you learn in T-ball.

Yeah we had Aloy royally screw that up and then got caught stealing twice. Really not a game we could afford to make that many outs on the basepaths.

Not to mention the DP on the sac fly attempt. But that was a hose from the RF and I would’ve sent Ty 100% of the time

Would love to start the year out with 2 conference sweeps.

I'll give Auburn credit, they played lights out defense last night.

They gunned down our CF on a 9-2 DP, caught us stealing twice, one of which was a strikeout-throwout, and their CF caught several fly balls that I was sure were going to be hits in the gap. Not to mention they had a freshman reliever come in and shut us down for 3 innings.

The pitch before Aloy hit the HR could have easily been called strike three. We might still be playing if that were the case

Crazy how baseball can be decided on one judgement call that impacts the whole game

What I'm about to say is probably because I have battered hog syndrome, but I can't feel good about winning it all with our hitting.

Our pitching is top shelf, but our hitting is fair to midland. I can't help but feel that we are going to need more hitting than what we currently have to have a chance to win the ultimate prize.

As a hog fan, I always feel like I'm waiting on the other shoe to drop.

I almost drank the hitting kool aid from the reports from longtime friends that attended fall practices and scrimmages.
Then remembered they were longtime baseball fans just wearing those rose colored glasses.

Y'all are going to drive yourselves mad worrying about victory margins in baseball.

Just win, baby.

Is it bad that the red tops with the pinstripe pants may be my favorite we've had in years?

It says a lot about my outlook on Arkansas athletics that the possibility of it being a positive thing never even crossed my mind.

The undisputed GOAT

I do like the red top and pinstripe bottom combo, though. Looks sharp.

I'm not a fan of watching this team play defense.

Give up 2 runs and they never even got a hit. Awful.
