I still think we can make another Elite 8 run without him. That is the ceiling again though now.

shite it is hard making a third elite 8 in a row. I didn't expect a final four before the injury.

Well that's lame. I was natty or bust pre-injury. Now I sit at Elite 8 ceiling.

Basketball is one of those weird sports that you think the team with a lot of talent will make a deep run but lose in the second round.

That’s true. Muss has always relied upon having a big that can play outside and keep the lane clear. Given that our guards can’t shoot the 3 very well, we’re going to have a tougher time driving now. Might be forced to play through Mitchell more and let him go to work inside

Sure this hurts but there’s still no ceiling with this team. I’d like to have 5 nba first rounders but I think we’ll be fine with just 4.

Just means Walsh will have to grow up faster. The silver lining is there’s time to get people ready.

It looked like he knew something was seriously wrong.

While true, we don't have to have it to have a great year. It just puts more pressure on some other guys to pick up the weight and get better faster.

I'm really interested to see what Muss can get out of Graham. His adjusted numbers are actually some of the best on the team but obviously his sample size isn't big enough to prove anything yet.

Like you said though, the loss of the 3 off the pick and roll sucks the most imo because those other bigs can't really do that. I think we have the pieces to cover the defensive side of the ball and rebounding with no problem.

For sure, but on the flip side mega talented teams are the ones that still win the natty.

If it was a guard sure.

This hurts way worse as he was our only big. You'd much rather Council go down just for that reason alone.

Now we're incredibly thin down low and that usually doesn't go well come March.

Yes but I have watched less talented teams than this one make the final four.

Brazile was 4th on the team in minutes at 29 per game despite not being a starter.

Where do those minutes get distributed now?

Walsh and more than anyone Graham. Graham's role on this team just got waaaaaay bigger.
