Some of it’s luck I guess, but our 3pt defense is smothering under Muss

Mahkel surprisingly plays soft compared to his brother and not as good footwork.

I like starting Kamani, he sets the pace underneath.

As long as he doesn’t get in foul trouble immediately I like it

The most impressive thing about Sanogo is that he shoots 80% from the line. I’ve literally never seen a guy that yolked shoot 80% from the line. He’s not just a big oaf that you can hack when push comes to shove. Dude’s a player.

Yeah I do not like this matchup at all but by Wednesday I think I’ll be able to convince myself we’re going to win

I’m not sure it’s a particularly “bad matchup” for Arkansas aside from UCONN being really good so they’re technically a bad matchup for everyone. I think we can play downhill against them. They don’t have that elite length and athleticism inside like we saw from Baylor, Duke and from Alabama this year.

One thing I’ll say is that they statistically send opponents to the line a lot. Could be our chance

They also turn the ball over a lot

I always hate when opposing teams link freaking Hogville on their message boards I wish I had an account on the UCONN board so I could warn them. Also, has anyone seen hogfan14 or whatever his name was lately? He's usually all over those boards but I haven't seen him around lately

I feel like The Boneyard is kind of like HIV. They probably go well together.

I will say this. Our guards are 10 times better than St. Marys.

Slow St. Marys killed them on inside drives. Council, Devo, and Black should all be able to get to the rim.

We have one of the best 3 point defenses in the country. We run people off the line and I expect we will do the same Thursday. They won't be getting easy decent looks like they did last night.

Sonaco will get some. We just have to do our best to limit him and contest as many as possible. Handle him much like we did Tshiebwe around the rim at Kentucky. I could see the Twins playing alot of minutes.

Lastly the Nick Smith experiment is coming to a close quickly. He's got a short leash and if he isn't doing anything Muss has sat him the last two games. I expect the same Thursday. He either produces of he sits the bench. It's march, we don't have time for experiments anymore.

This also isn't our dad's big east. I remember as a kid in the 80's and 90's the Big East was legit. Super physical and great teams. Not that way as much anymore. We are the more physical team. Just ask Kansas.

Lastly, Muss, with a week to prepare has shown you don't want to tussle with him in the tournament. Just ask Gonzaga. I suspect we rest and do scouting reports yesterday and Today, leave tomorrow and practice hard Wednesday.

I am a whole lot less worried about this game than I would be a UCLA/Zaga matchup in the Elite 8 on a short turnaround.

Agreed here. I saw them get a lot of looks in transition from 3 so that will also be key.

Kansas had a legit transition offense coming into our game so luckily that’s probably something we’ve been focusing on.

Muss is good about leaking 2 guards back to prevent transition.

I also like that we got one more day to rest/prepare than they did. For them it's enough time to go home repack and get back on the road.

If Ricky can get into the paint consistently against one of their guards, Muss will attack that over and over and over and over again.

Muss basically said the other night that they went back to the Maui plan of offense for the Toruney once they got our of SEC play and the league had seen them before.

With short prep and this format Muss thinks they can really overwhelm teams with how Ricky goes to the hoop.
