Back and forth discussions don't include calling someone a cuck or loser outside of middle school. I have no interest in it.

Good thing I don't base my self worth off an internet message board then right? I'm a strong believer in not feeding trolls so this will be the last time I respond to this obvious alter account.

If you choose to continue to try to bait a response have fun screaming into the void. Maybe someone else will oblige you. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Correct. Hurts wasn’t ready as a freshman either when it comes to playing the position the right way but we didn’t have a choice. He was our best option in 2016.

No you base your self worth on looking at my profile to see my number of posts and when I joined this board somehow validating your existence here.

And again, I was minding my own business posting here and you decided to make it personal by calling me out. Then turn around and try to gaslight me thinking somehow I instigated something. Stay in your lane and you won’t get spanked online.

QB recruiting was shite between 12-15. Bama had to have a RB play QB, take FSU's backup QB and the start a true freshmen in 16.

One decent QB recruit during that time and Bama is unbeatable in 15-16.

Agree 100%.

Hurts was thrown to the fire because Barnett wasn’t ready just like Milroe was pushed into action before he had the awareness and footwork to be a complete passer because Simpson didn’t grab the job in time.

Milroe with better footwork and awareness is a Lamar Jackson level player. I said this even while he was scuffling with Texas, he just has holes in his game from a development standpoint and early in the season wasn’t running a system tailored to his capabilities while being tethered to an OL that was in shambles.

Milroe has improved.
The system has been customized.
The OL with Roberts is a different beast.

Sayin may have trouble moving ahead of Lonergan, who knows for sure?

Yes. Lonergan is the one back up this year we really want to keep.

I think people are too eager to hand the reins to a true freshmen, regardless of talent. Every talented freshman QB we've had (for the most part) hasn't started, but instead taken the necessary time to learn the ins and outs of the offense and develop confidence. The way Jalen is improving, we will most likely not be benched. The experience of playing this year has allowed him to make more strides than the offseason did, for sure.

I'm not sold that Milroe would declare for the draft after next season, because typically you only see a QB declare when they are expected 1st rounders. I don't know that he has 1st round talent. I hope I'm wrong. Either way, when Milroe's stint is up... we have a good problem on our hands. Sayin, Lonergan, Holstein... pick your poision. Ty Simpson most likely transfers...

You know, those are good points. I think if this were 2016 again and Milroe had that schedule to adjust to starting, people might feel a lot different about him. Especially coming off a 2015 season where Coker was really nothing special, but did a good job of winning/leading the team. But in 2023, when you have a really good Texas team in Week 2, after you've had a run of starting QBs like we've had, the standard by which you judge a QB also changes. However, Milroe also is in year three with the program, while Hurts came in during the summer and was a true freshman.

I wouldn't have thought so, but when you compare him to a guy like Anthony Richardson, maybe he does. Milroe has athleticism and a strong arm, but like Richardson, his feel isn't great (yet) and he struggles in the intermediate passing game. But a year from now he could look totally different.

Sayin won't have to sit two years. Unless Milroe is hurt, he's going to be the #1 next year too. Why? Because A. He's earned it and B. Saban places a GIGANTIC value on game experience.

If Milroe plays as well or better next year, he'll forgo his senior year for the draft, so Sayin has a good shot at starting in 2025.

What's going to be interesting is to see how many of the other QBs transfer out. I hope none of them do but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Holstein, Lonergan, and Buchner all enter the portal after this season is over.

I don't think we'll lose Holstein or Lonergan this offseason. I'd be surprised if the other two were here, though. That's kind of the nature of the sport and the position in 2023.

Buchner would have to sit out a year if he transfers again.

If Milroe has a good year next year... he's gone to NFL.

I can't see Buchner as no.2 on depth chart in the spring.

Sayin only sits 1 year if Milroe continues current track. Milroe playing like the last few games is long gone after next year. Best thing for Bama and Sayin is Milroe playing lights out next year and given Sayin a year under his belt like Bryce had under Mac.

Lonergan will also factor in that decision as well. However, I think Milroe leaves after next season though.

Honestly, if Anthony Richardson can go in the first round after his last year at UF, I don't know why Milroe wouldn't go 2nd or 3rd round this year.

Sayin likely redshirts in year one on campus, but I doubt seriously that Milroe stays beyond next season. If he puts up even similar numbers to this year, he will be a high draft pick, possibly a 1st round pick based on potential.
